I concede that customer service is not always easy and it can be challenging. I usually try to think of at least one good thing to mention about a place when I write a review in which the negative points outweigh the positive ones. Furthermore, it is rare that I give a one star review. The only thing that I can think of which is a good aspect of this "eating establishment" is that it has books available.
There is something serious wrong with this place.
My initial impression of this place was that the tables need to be repainted. This is not a huge issue and if the customer service had been excellent and if the food had been edible, something such as the tatty tables could have been overlooked. In fact, it is just an example of the lack of care and general complacency that is exemplified by this place.
I have visited several Good Taste Shops and the members of staff have consistently been enthusiastic, approachable and the premises have been exceptionally tidy. In this particular instance, the prices for food are horrifically expensive and it was not what I expected of anything associated with Good Taste. If the food had actually tasted somewhat good, I would not have minded paying as much as I did. I wasn't even able to finish my meal because the taste was repulsive. In fact, the only reason why I have kept it is in case I get food poisoning and I can retain it as evidence.
The customer service was non-existent.
I know that people have to multi-task. Although I concede that cleaning is part of the job, it was as if the members of staff had been trained to be so engrossed in their duties to the point where customers were ignored. It would have been fine if someone was polite and stated something such as "I shall be with you in a minute." Customers were blatantly ignored and I would not have blamed anyone if they had chosen to leave because they were not being acknowledged.
I understand that customers do not always leave a table tidy and in a presentable condition, but the general atmosphere was one of uncleanliness and abandon. Although the members of staff appeared to be engaging in cleaning duties, they seemed to be doing so to avoid interacting with the customers. Although they were cleaning, everything still appeared to be in a mess.
From reading the other reviews, this is not an isolated incident and perhaps the members of staff are poorly treated by their employers. From what I could tell, the customers were polite and there was not a clear reason for the abrasive attitude of the members of staff. I could understand having a bad attitude if members of staff were poorly treated by customers.

Myself and my mother went to country market earlier today to the little corner coffee shop to be met with awful customer service. The young girls behind the counter were rude and spoke to my mother as if she was stupid. We ordered some paninis and 2 iced coffees. Sat down had the food brought over but no drinks. Waited 10 minutes and still no drink till one of the girls came up and asked if we wanted some? We explained we had ordered and paid already for our coffees. We ended up finishing our meals by this point and then eventually got the drinks. My mother then went up to the counter towards the syrups by the condiments and did herself a small shot of caramel not knowing only staff could do this. Was a simple misunderstanding on her behalf she was very apologetic afterwards. The girl behind the counter then approached my mother looking her up and down and had ago at her saying she was not allowed help herself and she had to ask permission. Bloody out of order really when my poor mum was already upset about not knowing. She had her head down of embarrassment but when looked up to the girl again the girl confronted her by saying “what” “what” which is just plain right ignorant.
She then came and sat back down to find the manager ( jules ) come marching over and started to raising her voice to my mum saying why on earth would she do that and really trying to humiliate her in the middle of the coffee shop with all customers already looking 🤦♀️ mum had told her she already apologised to the young lady working. But the manager would not take any of it and just walked off from us muttering under her breathe. And the young girl shaking her head at us the counter.
My point is that not everyone will know your rules but they certainly should never be treated by staff or by a manger like this ever! We will certainly not be returning to this...

Please have a look at these reviews because there is a clear and consistent pattern of behaviour that needs to be addressed immediately.
I have never, ever been to such a horrific, dismal and rude place. After leaving Country Market and expecting this place to be of the same calibre, I was disappointed. Most of the staff lacked manners and when some people approached the counter, they were just ignored. I felt like leaving because of the lack of a welcoming environment. There is something seriously wrong with this place and this is evidenced by the most recent reviews.
Certain members of staff were not kind in relation to the way in which they spoke to their colleagues. It was appalling to see. The food was absolutely terrible and I would have been embarrassed to charge that much money for something so stale and not properly presented. The paninis are simply awful and I do not see how something so simple can go so wrong.
Whomever manages this place needs to do a better job. There is definitely bullying going on in this place and based upon these reviews, this warrants a thorough investigation and how have things managed to go on for so long like this? Are members of staff being mistreated?
