The Pavilion at BOSC — Restaurant in East Hampshire

We have been going to the BOSC since it was renovated, seeing staff come and go. Yesterday’s experience was very very disappointing, hence this review.. We where a party of 5 and walked over there for eats and drinks. The staff overly friendly, drinks arriving on the table when you have just under half a pint left, I have to add without being ordered. We ordered 5 meals, a steak and 4 pizzas as they are new on the menu. Very exciting as all home made! Ohhh and a portion of chips the share. Must say that the pepperoni pizza says that it comes with caramelised onion on the menu, but it’s a typing error and doesn’t? I was told due to error they would put it on there free...

The steak arrived first, asked for it medium, it was well done. The portion of chips that when placed on the table, a few fell out of the bowl... the waiter then proceeded to pick them up with his bare hands a put them back in the bowl “HELLO, COVID” the manager saw this, told the boy off and picked the chips out if the bowl and put them on the table?!?

2 pizzas arrived next, they was wrong, they took them back. Then we waited and waited and waited.... Friend had to start eating the steak as it was getting cold, 2 pizzas finally arrived, hurray, then we waited and waited and waited... we had to start eating, again food getting cold. Others eventually arrived!!

Finally enjoying our food and the manager starts having a full scale conversation with us, “errrr we are trying to eat”!! well steak had finished anyways and we where nearly finished when last two pizzas arrived so that statement is not factually accurate..

The pizzas where very nice, the location is good, the facilities are good.

We did complain when paying the bill but sadly never got a chance to finish what we was saying as the manager did a disappearing act.. funny that as she has been overly attentive all afternoon?

Between us we spent £170, which is a lot of money...

If you go there I would pay as you go as there is always a discrepancy on the bill, yes I got charged for the caramelised onions, and NEVER order more than 2 meals at once.

I could go on with others things that they got wrong but this is long enough...

Had a meal for four on a Friday night. Had a reservation but they were quiet so could pick anywhere, although no table was made up ready for us. The napkins were soaking wet where they wrap them around the cutlery. No ketchup available to begin with then there was. We ordered our food but then told not enough of the meal 3 of us ordered so one had to pick another meal. No pizzas available at all on the menu. Food came, steak not great and not cooked as requested, this was mentioned to waiter. The whole atmosphere was rather quiet, no music playing and by 9pm we were the only 4 people in there. We felt like they wanted us out as they were cashing up at 10pm even though they said they were open until 11pm. A few huffs and puffs by the staff as the evening got later. We left at 10.30 as felt rather uncomfortable to stay any later. Sorry but won’t be rushing back, it all felt a bit awkward to be honest which is a shame. Felt like the staff were doing their best but didn’t really want...

We had our Christmas Work party here recently, the food was ok but the service wasn’t that great, very mismatched. Myself & colleagues getting our courses served at different times and plates not always being cleared before the next course being served. Drink prices are good and car park is large. The dance floor is also quite small but not un-comfortable. My group also requested one song but it was declined by the DJ as “they’re groups of people here they wouldn’t like that music”. We paid the same amount of money, why weren’t we allowed at least one song? Seems unfair. Probably won’t go back next year. Also finished at 11 due to licensing which is out of their control but disappointing for a...
