The Prince of Wales in Hammer Vale, Haslemere, is a quintessential English pub that exudes charm and warmth. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a friendly atmosphere that promises a delightful experience. The pub offers a selection of award-winning ales and a menu featuring home-cooked meals made from locally sourced ingredients. Whether you're ending a long country walk or starting a leisurely day out, it's the perfect spot to relax and indulge in traditional British hospitality. The staff's attention to detail and commitment to quality service make every visit memorable. With its cozy ambiance and exceptional food, The Prince of Wales stands out as a gem in the Surrey countryside. The Prince of Wales is an excellent pub which is in the Haslemere area. Plenty of parking and adjacent to many walking trails, it is set in a rural location that has lots of charm. There is a great selection of beers and there are frequent "guest ales". The food is the standout. You can tell it is all freshly prepared and there are lots of choices. They also can do gluten free which is helpful as my son is gluten sensitive. The staff is excellent and there is seating both indoors and outdoors. Finally, there is a playground and it is dog friendly. The landlords/managers are awesome and welcoming to groups ranging from sports teams, cyclists and walkers. It's a great traditional pub that offers good food, beer, has a great staff in a very nice location - what else could you ask for?

We had a lovely time with 2 friends. The Sunday roast was excellent and the service could not be faulted. One of the highlights of going there was meeting Bruno.... the pub dog. What a beautiful, good natured labrador he is. So regal sitting in his arm chair. Thank you for a great Sunday afternoon.

Having arrived without booking the day before and finding the kitchen closed we booked to return for Sunday lunch. Thank goodness we did. Cannot fault this establishment. Whilst woefully understaffed we were looked after royally by the charming discreet waiting staff. Ordered whitebait and smoked salmon starters. Both excellent. The roast beef, unusually all 3 of us ordered the same. was ridiculously tender and sourced locally. The accompanying vegetables and Yorkshire puddings top notch. Too full for desserts we ventured outside as the weather was glorious only to find a country n western singer setting up so instead of trekking home on foot immediately we stayed and enjoyed an unexpected bonus. Eventually givinng into ice cream and sorbet. The selection of beers is terrific our son can tedtify to this, the Rioja we chose sublime. The couple who run this pub damn wish I had checked,so welcoming. We have visited before but only on hikes Will definitely return, plan to book a big group lunch following another hike but treat ourselves properly with rest of the gang Oh and some friends ( vegetarians) were on another table and didn't fancy the veggie Wellington, why? So chef cooked something off the menu, sea bass, especially for them and it was delicious. Thank you for a...
