The Queen’s Head is quite possibly the loveliest pub I have ever been in (and I have been in a lot). Firstly it looks like something from a picture postcard, the archetypal old English inn. Secondly the array of ales on draft more than pleased our eyes, particularly the offer of HPA - not commonly found away from the Welsh border, glorious. Thirdly, the menu. Wow. I love a good menu read and this one did not disappoint. Huge selection of dishes, so many it was hard to choose. Resulting in my mother-in-law and I dividing a Roquefort based pizza and a toasted goats cheese salad. Both featured figs. Both divine. Fourthly, the staff. Super friendly, so welcoming. Lovely. By the end of our lunch we were so enamoured with the Queen’s Head we were searching Right Move for available properties locally. Alas, as we didn’t have a million pounds to spare, we had to leave the sunshine of the beer garden and go home. Tummies full of beer and cheese though helped us on our way, we will...

One of my favourites in Petersfield. Outdoor space is lovely, food amazing and a good range of ale. Very friendly staff.

Update: This is still my favourite pub and WAS my favourite spot for pizza. However, this is no longer the case. The pizza base is not homemade and it is bought in - it’s not a good place for pizza anymore. If you want to eat the delicious toppings, that the Queen’s Head have to offer off a cracker then you’ll be fine visiting here.

Really disappointed as this made you stand out against all competitors locally. Will be visiting other establishments in town for better quality pizza.

Here is a snapshot of the pizza before.

UPDATE: Queen’s Head now doing...

An old style English pub in the centre of a great east Hampshire village. Quiet during weekday afternoons, but busy on a weekend. A great variety of traditional craft ales, cider, stout and lager - for those without active taste buds 😀. A varied food menu, with "blackboard" specials, which can be served in the restaurant, bar or garden. I didn't eat, but it all looked very good. Sunday roasts are served and I was recommended to book in advance. Opening hours commence at 10:30/11:00 and closing time depends upon custom, especially at weekends! No music, or gambling/gaming machines were visible or heard. Bar staff are very friendly, professional and conversational. I...

What a delightful cosy pub! Nice menu available, we chose a pizza and a calzone and weren't disappointed. Puddings were the white chocolate and Nutella cheesecake and the pecan pie and ice cream- really good. Drinks were Aspall Cider on draught, Absolute Citron and two shots of tequila. Had a really lovely evening spent outside as the football was on inside and was quite busy. Dog friendly pub which is always nice in my opinion. Two different rooms to sit in as well as under the canopy and garden. Toilets clean Great service Would definitely re visit if we were back round this way again.

We visited on our way back from Portsmouth and had an above average experience (hence 3 stars). The starter sharing board was excellent and the simple Italian cuisine is on point. They do deviate away from the more simple Italian recipes which is where things go a bit wrong. Pork ciabatta was pretty average. Ambience was excellent, large beer garden with lots of flowers but NO MINT (essential to scare away the insects). Weather was amazing but perhaps not the direct responsibility of the venue. It felt very safe from the threat of random animal attacks.
