Fortescue Arms — Restaurant in East Lindsey

We went there today at lunch time with our small well behaved 1 year old dog for a drink and something to eat. Pub looked lovely but we only stopped for one drink as we unfortunately must have upset the two bars maids by walking in the pub not noticing the no dogs sign for which I apologised for missing and said I was happy to comply with sitting in the garden as it was a nice day and where we were heading anyway. I couldn't help feeling at being offended in the way we were instantly told off and instructed to move the dog outside immediately ("now!") before I could finish asking my wife what she wanted to drink. Even ordering the drinks felt hard work. Might sound trivial to most but but it could have been handled so much nicer. I love pubs and hate that so many are closing so hope that this is taken as constructive criticism. For me and anyone treated in the same manner we would just chose somewhere else, never to return and more importantly share our experience with others. Let's hope this was...

We ordered food 4 adults 1 child and drinks spending around £55 food was ok apart from one of the meals my son ordered buffalo burger and wen it came he took bite and the sauce was extremely hot which wasn’t made clear on menu he cud not eat as was to hot for him so he called the waiter to explain he went in then came out with meal still in hand to say nothing they wud do so my son went without food even though he paid £15 for the meal on speaking with manager he was not in any way taking responsibility and not willing to offer replacement shall...

This is the first review I’ve ever written and that’s simply because the food was unreal!! The loaded fries were amazing, the chicken burger was amazing and the onion rings and slaw was home made and so crispy. Payed £31 for 2 meals. The staff were very friendly and the beer garden was great and clean.

Best food and experience I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 guys can’t wait to come back.
