Having driven passed a few times and read the reviews I have always wanted to go to this quaint quiet country pub for a bite to eat. I visited here on a Saturday afternoon and like the owners and other customers we were surprised to see a very large group of younger males arriving. An unusual place for such a gathering but we stuck with it. At times they were a bit loud but its to be expected and didnt spoil anything for us. I sensed there was added pressure on the staff but they seemed to deal with it quite admirably...although the young person pouring my guiness needs a bit more practice. My friend ordered the 8oz sirloin with all the trimmings and I went for the chicken in stilton and mushroom sauce. We thought we may have been in for quite a wait for the food but it was delivered within the time it takes to place the order and cook a steak to medium...so well done for that👏 2 observations I did make...firstly the plates the food was presented on were too small and the food just piled on...I personally would have preferred it laid out differently and for both of our meals we would have enjoyed a few more mushrooms. It does also state on the menu that any grilled item is served on a hot plate or rock but this wasnt the case on our visit. All in all a great experience...one which will be enjoyed again in the future.

The Old Chequers Inn out at Croft, East Lindsey. Just a stones throw from Skegness being a 12 minute drive. I visited this quant country pub out on my travels while I was camping just up the road at Windfarm Park. I decided to grab myself a refreshing ice cold beer as I had such a thirst. Upon my approach to the pub I noticed there was a lot of cars ditched to the side of the road as the car park was full so people had to park down the narrow road. So if you’re going here and you’re in walking distance that would be a lot better for you. It was very busy outside the front and back of the pub which was great to see. Everyone was enjoying the live music outside in the pub beer garden, for the one pint I stayed for and what I saw of the band it was really good and also great to see everyone enjoying themselves. I believe there is a caravan site next to the pub which is good for business. The reason for my 3 star rating on the food is because I didn’t have any or the time, but from what pictures I’ve seen of the food I’ll be having something next time. Thank you again. Will be visiting in the near future.

Cracking country pub, @ present outside drinking & dining only, all change after 17th may 2021 owners & staff very friendly sat and conversed over the last 12 covid months and present times, looking forward when public can come inside. Gentle persuasion over the sunday lunch so as on a camp site 5 minutes walk it wold be rude not to try this 🙂 Wife & i called for a few drinks and food tonight , home-made fishcakes & Braising steak really nice until next time thanks see you shortly, Neil & Jane 👍🏻

After reading reviews and seeing recommendations at our holiday rental we were really looking forward to our meal here.Unfortunately it was a bitter let down 😕 No home cooking going on here, my pie tasted as though it had been microwaved, no lovely crumbly pastry as expected and the filling was unpleasant. The chips were fresh out of the freezer, my husband rated his beef as edible, my daughter left the majority of her burger as she said it was too hard. The only person to enjoy her meal was my other daughter who said her chicken nuggets tasted just like McDonalds so there you go. The staff were pleasant enough but never bothered to come and take our food order so we just went to the bar to order, I would have given them feedback about the food but they never visited our table or asked if everything was ok. So for these reasons I...
