I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place truly deserves it. A group of us recently ordered from here, and we all agreed that it was the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. In fact, we couldn't stomach more than a single bite before leaving the rest untouched.

First off, the fish was barely battered—what little batter there was had been overcooked, and the fish itself was small, mostly skin, and just unpleasant. The chips were absolutely awful—rock hard and tasted like they had been reheated multiple times. We also ordered a saveloy, which turned out to be battered (which wasn't stated?) and therefore deep-fried. It was overcooked and got a mouth full of oil when bitten into.

The entire meal was inedible, leaving our group without a proper meal. We had planned this as a treat during our break, but it ended up being a huge disappointment and a total waste of money. We were going to return the food for a refund, but unfortunately, the shop had closed at 19:30 and we ordered close to closing.

Honestly, don’t waste your money here. We wish we’d seen some of the recent reviews before deciding to order as there appears to be a trend. If I could give zero...

Went on the Wednesday and waited out side for doors to open at 4.30. There was 2 people in front that were locals, I was staying on a campsite, doors opened that's when I realised new owners! The 2 in front of me ordered 4 cod.. when it came to me being served I asked for 2 cod and chips and immediately woman said we have no normal size cod left!!!! Only extra large cod that was £1.90 extra.. now shop had been open 5 mins a d already run out of cod. I excepted the 2 extra large cod amd was reluctant to pay a extra £1.90 each, but I been to the chip shop a few times over the years when staying up there a d they been best fish and chips by far... They served up the meals in mean time another local came in amd asked for 2 cod amd they weren't charged the extra 1.90 So I said oh you do have the normal size cod then.. woman sarcastically said oh I've just found them in another fridge..!! I will not be going there again if we stay up there. None of them had the hair tied back the attitude was 👎. Amd the fish had no taste and was full of batter. Went & Visited this Week,Walked in soon has we sat down realised it was a mistake cause the place was freezing but we was hungry so decided to stay & try the food,ordered our food,the man read it back to us,came and told us had no regular cod so it would be extra(not sure why a fish shop sales out of cod in a village on another note why did I pay extra cause he had sold out) came out didn’t have any bread and butter but just sent out baps anyway,forgot a few things so had to keep asking for it,the batter was all burnt and vile,the fish smelt off, found a bone 3rd bite so waisted it all,charged me 90p a chicken nugget 😳🤣 what a waste of money,price is day light robbery go else where and avoid...
