The Ferry Boat Inn — Restaurant in East Lindsey

Not many people in decided to order food only 2 other tables ordered food in front of us. Only do basic food no fancy big meals shouldn't take too long! 1 hr wait till our food arrived no pre warning about a delay and that it would take soo long I hadn't eaten all day so was starting to feel a little shaky if I had known we would of gone elsewhere . And to top it off my meal was not what I ordered they sent out a double beef burger when I ordered a chicken burger I can't eat beef. Told her she said you didn't order chicken I said yes I did!! So she went to till got a receipt printed off she said its says double beef burger well that's not what I ordered I went up to bar as server said there's extra to pay any normal bar would say sorry our fault no extra payment. the women who took our meal order said yes u did order chicken burger I put it down wrong! It's the same price! But then it was another 3o mins before that arrived. Very disappointed what a shambles. Having to eat on my own as my partner and daughter had finished there meals even though we come out to eat together as a family. As for the food was not nice at all. Could tell it was cheap processed food just by looking at it! The server basically called me a liar about what I'd ordered. Seen the building when it wasn't owned by Haven but it was never open. Came past to get to the Golden Sands beach access and could see it had been refurbished and was now Haven. Lots of outside seating. Didn't look much from the outside but we'd dined at the Quayside (onside Haven restaurant) the night before and was looking for somewhere less kid focused. Called in after a few hours in Mablethorpe. Sat outside which is south facing so plenty of sun. Inside is more of a pub vibe than the photos get across. Certainly more atmosphere than I expected. Nice and clean. Some music on. Lots of tables in and outside. Good selection at the bar and they had some music playing. Bathrooms were average. Outside had a little Doggy shower set up post getting sandy on the beach. Not really a parking area but can walk over from the main site. Great if you are in the nearest caravans. Suppose opening hours depends on season.

This place is not even a shadow of the place it once was. We felt like we were invading and shouldn't have been there. This is a pub and they wanted us gone by 10pm they said they wanted to close so we had our 1 drink and off we went. This was a Friday night. The only reason I've given a star is because you have to do at least that to do the review and the girl was lovely and very apologetic about the situation and she gave our dogs a treat. This was once a lovely pub with entertainment and food and a good place to grab things for the beach. It's so sad to see what's happened to it. It played a part in one of the many things that ruined our holiday to Mablethorpe. Been going for many years but we think it's time we moved on because Mablethorpe sure isn't going to, it seems it just wants to go...
