We recently called in here for lunch, we had passed it many times and admired the building but finally stopped and gave it a try! Wow what a find!! This isn’t just the cutest place to look at, the landlord and landlady are super friendly, it quaint, cosy and has a beautifully maintained garden to enjoy but the outstanding feature of this beautiful country pub has to be the home cooked food! Just wow! So much better than any expensive restaurant you’ll find, the landlady hand prepares, cooks and modifies anything on the menu to your exact taste, she really is an outstanding cook! I can hand on heart say this is the best steak I’ve ever eaten, it was like cutting through butter! I’ve always said the best was in a little beach restaurant in Cape Verde but this lady has even beaten that! Put this place on the map guys, they truly deserve to be! We will be back everytime we are in Mablethorpe, hands down the best food in the area! Thank you for a wonderful lunch ❤️

My family and I ate at the Kings Head Inn on Saturday 1st April. My father rang the restaurant in advance to see if they would be able to cater for me and my boyfriend, as we are both vegan. The landlord/landlady said they were more than happy to make us something that wasn't on their menu, which was great. We had roasted butternut squash with lots of veggies in a tasty salsa sauce. (Take a look at the picture as my description does not do it justice!) The food was amazing! The best vegan food I have ever had to be exact! The chef was extremely passionate about food and explained to us in detail what ingredients she would be using to complement the different flavours. She wasn't wrong! It had so much flavour and tasted amazing. My family members also loved their meals and we all agreed that if we were to return to the area (as we were visiting family) we would definitely eat here again.

Wow. Absolutely amazing place to stop. We parked up for the night in our tiny little micro camper, we'd rung ahead to see if it was OK and the most chilled out of reply "pop in and we'll find you space" said it all. Full of life, freindly, Jackie really does care about every single person that visits and loves to have a laugh and a joke. The range of bottled ales was fantabulous, the food!!!!!! WOW Beer battered fish chips and peas for me and scampi and chips for the wife. Both dishes were amazing, fish and chips is definitely up there with some of the best I've ever had. I'd seen one negative review about The Kingshead and can only think that that person had their head up their arse. It's an old building, 1663 if I've remembered correctly, very tactile building that's full of character. Would we stop here again, dam right I would.

Decided to eat out in Mablethorpe area, trust me, decent food pubs are few are far between up here for some reason. Found the Kings Head on Google & thought “that’ll do nicely, we’ll book a table”…..60 mins & 8 phone calls later & still nobody answers, even tried the mobile number off Facebook page, no answer, that’s frustration. Decided to go anyway & try our luck, gorgeous looking thatched pub sitting down a quiet country lane, superb! it was busy with 5 out of the 6 tables occupied. Took our table & we were offered the one & only menu in the restaurant, 3 meals “weren’t available”, the “bar” is a load of bottles sitting on the counter it’s either help yourself or wait for Jackie’s partner to ask….help yourself is quicker😁. We order, we wait……..and we wait, we’re last to order & nobody has been served yet, there was I thinking of booking a bed for the night. An hour later we saw two fish & chip orders go flying past our faces, looked incredible. Five minutes later Steak & Ale pie arrived along with wife’s bbq ribs & spicy wings. Cooked to perfection, tasty as tasty can be, well worth the wait. Jackie the owner/chef then said she was going out for a fag, back in 5!😂 She then had the audacity to complain ( in a very jovial way) that those who ‘walked in’ for food might have phoned to book……before I could answer, another guest piped up that she had tried phoning to no avail, I chipped in with the same telling Jackie I had called the landline number 8 times……”oh, that number hasn’t been used in two years”😂. You have to call me on my mobile number off Facebook…….I made it clear I did…..4 times (all in total jest)….she laughed, gave me a big hug & a kiss & said she liked me! |What a bizarre experience the whole night was, chaos, carnage yet no one got the hump, everyone was laughing, the hours wait for food was insignificant in the end. So, how do I end this epistle…..for heavens sake don’t call the landline number, call Jackie’s mobile to book (07496824028) don’t expect to be in & out in 45 mins, it ain’t going to happen. Brace yourself for fun & frolics but above all else, darned good food. Would I...

Went to this restaurant with friends on the last night of our holiday a couple of weeks ago. The starters were delicious and they even served a small portion of the risotto main course for one of the group. I chose a sirloin steak as did my husband, both were cooked perfectly - his medium rare and mine rare and all accompaniments were excellent. Two others had rumps steaks cooked well done (heathens!) and both said they were perfect. One friend had wonderful looking rolled lamb breast, slow cooked to get rid of the fat served with vegetables and mash, she enjoyed it so much she had almost finished it before the rest of us were only half way through. Her husband had fabulous looking braised brisket which I was tempted with but unable to have because of a food allergy, he enjoyed every mouthful and could barely finish it. None of us could manage a pud despite being tempted by the menu. They had an excellent choice of coffee and even provided jasmine tea for me. Very good and attentive service and our only regret was that it was our last night so couldn't return for another meal. I heartily recommend this restaurant and will definitely return if we are...

We first met Jackie a couple of years ago now, passing with the caravan we saw the pub.

Another trip and in the Motorhome we called ahead and made arrangements to stay, a most wonderful, happy and pleasant welcome to a delightful stop over.

Since that time, we sadly hadn't been able to get along again like we'd hoped to do due health matters and such.

We recently enquired re availability to receive a call back and a couple of nights gets booked easily. We also managed to extend for slightly longer stay thankfully.

Food is absolutely delightful, home cooked, fresh and magnificent, accompanied by a grand selection of bottled ales, lagers and more.

We have seen that somebody has recently left a 'negative' review. Well we are most surprised by this as nothing like truthful, maybe a fake! We cannot fault the Kings Head Inn, in any way.

Toilets are left open 24hrs, cleaned at least 3 times a day, more if required.

The pub itself is so full of character, with great staff, clean and tidy.

A delightful place in all...
