We decided to try the Malcolm arms for Sunday dinner on a very wet weekend . Me and the other half both had the carvery and both opted for beef and pork. We sat in the conservatory which I can only say it felt sitting in a waiting room , no atmosphere at all really. No background music and it all felt very lifeless. The food was ok , hot and plenty of it . The cauliflower cheese had no cheese sauce with it at all which was a strange one for me . The mash potato was very soft with no lumps at all very nice .Me and the other half had a debate wether the roast potatoes were hand made or frozen, she said hand made but I said frozen ? But we both agreed the gravy was the star of the show it was very good some of the best we've had on our travel's for Sunday dinner . So all in all a bit of a mixed bag really , not a brilliant Sunday dinner but not a bad one either . Get the cauliflower cheese right and add a bit of atmosphere to the place and this would certainly be on our list of places to return to on our Sunday lunch travels , oh and I'm sure the roast potatoes were...

Never been to the Malcolm arms, but wanted somewhere to go for my sister's birthday. The place had a great atmosphere the landlord's were lovely and they even put a birthday card on the table for my sister.my brother in-law had prawn cocktail for starters and was lovely, my sister and I had garlic mushrooms with won't we thought was going to be a dip but was just drizzle on the top and the mushrooms were very bland and didn't taste of much. Main courses were ham egg and chips which was very nice. Beef lasagna which was also very nice. I had the steak and ale pie pastry was very hard and was very dry inside there was gravy but didn't seem to help but the taste was there. They had a band well two people they were okay. We would go back there again but I would have something different. And the waiting staff were warm...

Really disappointed. Party of 13 so was asked to preorder food, which was done within reasonable time. On arrival we waited longer that needed to order drinks due to one bar maid working the bar while the landlord stood and the end of the bar just watching, no welcoming smile or acknowledgment just a unfriendly glare. We were seated in the conservatory, which was cold and no heating seemed to be on. We were informed once seated that one dish that was pre ordered was unavailable and no effort was made to contact us prior to our booking, costly mistake as it was a steak dish. Hair in a side salad was very off putting too. If you like boiled chicken or microwave lasagne this pub is for you. Definitely spoilt Boxing Day dinner so I wouldn’t recommend booking a table here for a...

We booked a table for 8 in the week for a Sunday carvery and when we got there, there was a little confusion over our table but they did find us a table! It seemed they were struggling with getting back into the reopening groove, we had to flag down staff when we needed something like drinks and to find out if we needed tickets for the roast. The food, however, was lovely, there was plenty meat and it was nice and tender. Sad that there was no cheesecake of the day left eventhough it was only 130 but the chocolate orange cake was delicious!! Over all, the food was great it was just the organisation which slightly let it down

Nice pub, located in a good setting at Antons Gowt Lock System, you can park up there and walk along the Witham River, 3 miles West to Langrick Bridge, Cafe at the end of it, or head South on the River to Boston Marina and the start of the Town, there is also a Cafe there. If you're not walking, the Pub provides good food and Ales, with seating outside and plenty of parking, nice staff. Only downside is the remote location, need a nominated driver.
