A Wonderful Discovery! So, we didn't pre-book for the National Memorial Arboretum... onto Plan B and a mooch around Barton-under-Needwood. As we love cats and quirky, stylish interiors, just the name piqued our curiosity! Greeted with a very warm welcome (in COVID-19 specification PPE) we chose a table in The Snug. The Skinny Kitten Cafe offers a menu with a wide and choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. Our food was served in style and tasted as good as it looked. Have I mentioned the in-house baked cakes? The selection is truly tempting, with the final choice being the only difficult decision. I can definitely recommend the chocolate covered flapjack - the perfect treat with a cup of tea! Whether you are local or passing through, the Skinny Kitten Cafe is highly recommended. I think a minor diversion might be needed on our next road trip... see you soon!

Great little café with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Decorated with a shabby chic decor. Friendly staff and a great selection of food and beverages. I opted for a cooked breakfast, but as I’m a fussy eater I swapped out mushrooms for extra beans with no hassle. I also refer my bacon and eggs well done which wasn’t a problem to do. My wife opted for a Brie, bacon and cranberry ciabatta with a luxury hot chocolate. This came with cream and marshmallows! To finish up we shared a chocolate junkyard cake, nice and moist with some tasty chocolate icing. We’ve eaten there before, and will be happy to return!

Lovely coffee shop, delicious coffee and cake. Only negative is that they forgot my brother's breakfast and he had work to get to so ended up having to wolf it down in 5 mins and rush to get to work. Totally understand these things happen, overall, lovely visit, will be back!

Well...what can I say apart from being poor. We were one of 3 small tables present. We ordered a eggs benedict, club bagel & child's sausage sandwich. They advised us that it would be 30 mins for our order, which we didn't mind. However, it took 45 mins for our order to arrive. My husband's egg benedict didn't have runny eggs, no bacon and stale muffin. He said it tasted like it had been sitting a while & he said it was the worst eggs benedict that he's ever had. We asked for mayo on my son's sausage sandwich & they responded saying that they had no mayo although I had mayo in my club sandwich. My club sandwich was ok, although the bacon was very chewey! Also my husband's decaf cappuccino was cold It used to be good, but it has recently dropped significantly on food quality...
