The Foresters Arms — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Visited Saturday 2nd October 2021, table for 4 at 4.30pm. Greeted by our lovely waiter Ben, who was so pleasant and helpful and a credit to his employer. Myself and my stepdaughter chose the Greek sharing platter as a main, when asked by a lovely blonde haired waitress( also a credit to her employer) if all was OK, we were honest and mentioned the chicken skewers were gelatinous in texture and not pleasant, almost as though undercoooked! My lamb kofta contained a small bone ( visible on the side of my plate and pointed out)informed staff of this. She welcomed our criticism and agreed with me that if you don't give honest feedback, when in house, then things cannot be put right. ( as a lot of people say alls fine & then wait to complain here ) However our bill was requested , no feedback about our concerns raised was mentioned, we paid and left. So I feel great staff are not backed up with a manager that aims to rectify the problems fed back. Such a Shame as we were hoping to try Sunday lunch here and often stay close by, where we Moor our narrow boat...

We have just been for a meal at the Foresters, which i have no complaints about. However, when i go for meals i usually have children's meals as i am unable to finish adult portions. Not one to waste food i asked for the Childs lasagne expecting to receive the specified price. Without telling me beforehand that i would be charged for the larger portion while getting the smaller one (with a lower advertising price). We were only made aware of this once the bill had been paid and refused a refund for the price difference. Being a long time customer of the Foresters and know many staff well this was a big disappointment. However they have in the past charged the lower price for the same item without issue. I am upset that i have to pay for the larger portion while only getting the smaller one and only to be told once the bill is paid. I would not expect to pay for a full pint while only getting half, and I don't see this being any different. Having never had a problem with this before and not doing anything to make this right, we will not be dining here...

Where do I begin! It was meant to be my birthday meal. I book a table for 6 of us for 6:45 of the 22ed of October. The staff was rude from the beginning didn’t show up the table was just left standing there, then a little girl came over looks only about 16 if that she was our waitress she tuck our order no problem. then we waited which felt like 45 minutes for our food, didn’t offers us any drink while we was waiting had to keep calling her over while she was sat there on her phone doing nothing looking moody as ever. Food finally came and it was horrible it tasted like a farm was in my mouth. I sent back my food as I wasn’t happy at all. Then I think she was superior that tried charging me for it when I didn’t even eat it. Then started to arguing with me saying it was my fault as I didn’t no what was in it when I did. I still ended up paying for only half my meal which I didn’t eat but hay ho. I will be not coming back again. The whole place is unprofessional, a joke and just a clown show. Great birthday...
