Traditional English village pub. A central focus for many villagers. Cosy, somewhat rustic with roaring log fire in winter. Recently redecorated. Has dining room which appears to be well supported. An unusual feature are the brass plates screwed to the wooden floor of the bar. They commemorate significant events that occurred to locals. Worth a read if just out of curiosity. Serves Adnams beers from casks, spigot tapped and gravity fed. A small range of other draught beers such as Guinness are also available. Squit night, a musical and poetry get together.....A kind of jam session .... happens once a month. It attracts the usual mix of performers, some playing/singing popular standards and others sticking to folk songs/tunes. Good entertainment. Under new management (2018). Food is very good. Booking advised. A welcoming pub. Worth a visit.

Another fantastic meal at the Bell Inn Middleton, I had the sea bass and my wife had the fish and chips, we both had the waffles for dessert, this was our second meal here this week and as always it was great. The food is delicious and the staff are very attentive, Kerry and Sky are fantastic front of house and the chef is great. It is great value for money and would highly recommend it. Added to that the cask Adnams is lovely 😊

A great little country pub, tucked away in the corner of a quiet little village. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Good selection of Adnams beers and lagers. Food available on certain days. Large garden, now with goats and ponies!

Stopped for lunch on the 30 December 2019 on route home to Kent. Pub was clean food very good. However it was let down by have 1 person serving in the bar and the restaurant. We did not try the desserts as no one came to offer us a menu. There were 5 other people in the same part of the restaurant they were given a menu but no one came to take their order. After sitting and waiting for the person to return for 20 minutes. They decided like us to pay the bill and leave I did express my concerns that in running a pub you need staff. The public bar had 15 people in it. The restaurant had 17 people sitting down. So they lost out in 7 desserts...

A family group of 5 adults went here today after seeing good reviews, the pub is friendly, old & very pleasant inside.

The menu was limited but I could've easily eaten everything that was on it, 2 courses for £16.50 or 3 courses for £20.00.

We all ordered a variety of starters, mains & deserts & were very impressed when they arrived at our table, they all looked good & tasted delicious. I would say it was one of the best meals I've had at a pub for a very long time & the others agreed.

Service was swift, polite & professional.

Definitely 5 star rating for us, we will...
