We were driving back from a day at the seaside and were struggling to find anywhere that served good food at reasonable prices ..I saw this place on the map and we were sold when we saw it had a 7 day carvery! When we got there it was very quiet and we were worried it was going to be a bit rubbish, but we were so wrong! As soon as we walked in, we saw the carvery meat, which looked delicious! My partner had a generously portioned carvery, and I had a breaded chicken goujon burger. We couldn't fault either dish, and the crackling was fantastic! We live around 60 miles from this pub, but we'll hunt it down next time we're at the seaside for sure! It's a hidden gem!

We visited the Old Mill House over the weekend and could not be happier with our experience. The building has such lovely curb appeal that we actually drove by on our way Orford Castle and decided to turn around and try it for lunch before continuing to the castle. The carvery was very good!! My husband cleaned his plate. I wanted something lighter and opted for a salmon sandwich. It was simple but very good. There is loads of parking and a large outdoor play area for the kiddos. We really enjoyed our time there and plan on returning. Highly recommend.

Good pub grub! A completely unplanned visit we were driving through the Suffolk countryside and felt peckish, this was the first pub we found, and we are very glad we did. Friendly staff and good menu selection, our order was taken quickly and the food arrived piping hot. Dog friendly, we had our 5month old pup with us and he was made welcome. Well worth a visit.

My mum & I went here to see my daughter off on the Boxing Day Hunt. We had some time to kill while we waited, so we went inside to try the carvery. The pub has a very traditional countryside feel to it, which was really nice as you don't see that very often anymore. They had mulled wine available, as it was Xmas. I don't normally drink wine, but had a glass to try it. It was so good! Honestly, if I wasn't driving, I could've had several! We were seated in the restaurant area by a very attentive waiter, who made sure we had everything we needed. We opted for the carvery, which was a mixture of beef & turkey, with carrots, red cabbage, sprouts, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding & plenty of gravy. It was all cooked to perfection & tasted amazing. For dessert, I had Xmas pudding with custard & my mum had a chocolate fudge sundae. We retired to the car to recover & wait for the hunt to return, as we were both stuffed! Best meal out for a long time! If I find myself in the area again, I will...

Update during lockdown. Nick and Ruth and Phil are doing a local area hot food delivery menu, which is fantastic. See attached photo for Roast Pork and Scampi and chips. Thanks very much for your service.❤ I eat here regularly. The staff are friendly, and the carvery is good and available for lunch weekdays as well as evenings and weekends. Two carvery choices are available plus specials and restaurant menu. I have brought business colleagues here too. Not silver service or gastro pub, but good honest food and drinks. Updated 2022. I still eat here regularly, with both collection and eating in. Nick, Ruth and their staff are great, and the food is good tasty honest pub food including great roast carvery with often two meat choices...

60th Birthday Jul 2024 • Family I cannot praise the whole experience enough, we celebrated my 60th Birthday a family of 25 people, we pre ordered a selection of meals some for the carvery and others from the menu the food was excellent with generous portions & enjoyed by all. The dessert menu was enormous with many old favourites but also delicious. Nick, Ruth & their team could not do enough for us from helping us untangle balloons to bring out Birthday cake that I had supplied into the garden after our meal. The Old Mill House is in an amazing setting offering a lovely play area for the children in our family party. The vegan in our party was also well catered for. I would highly recommend & we will definitely be back....
