Had a meal from the bell inn Carlton colville Lowestoft and the food is very nice but on this occasion my wife ordered a smoked chicken wrap , the manageress asked if everything was ok whilst my wife was eating skin on fries which had came with her smoked chicken wrap, as the chicken was hard discoloured on the inside of the meat , I had told the manageress that “no infact the meat was chewy discoloured and over cooked whether that was due to the microwave heating the chicken up or the chicken most likely to be overcooked as it was pulled off the leg , after a lengthy embarrassing discussion the manageress offered no apology, yet continued to go back to the kitchen and bring out a vacuum packed smoked whole chicken , I was literally embarrassed , I then proceeded to explain in front of other customers my complaint , she then asked me what I wanted her to do about the situation, which shocked me even more , I am a regular customer there and her attitude towards me and my wife was utterly embarrassing and shocking in front of other customers, I could have understood that this meal could have been a one off mistake and would have gone back to enjoy other nights out , but her attitude is so so wrong , the manageress then proceeded to asked me what we wanted for her to do about it , which was unbelievable as she did not know how to handle a complaint, the bell inn is a lovely place and me and my wife have been going there for years , but they have now lost us as a customer due to the manageress attitude towards handling a...

Popped in for a drink. Brilliant place. Didn't eat myself but food looked awesome. Staff were lovely and the locals were so friendly. Came back today and have to say was not impressed. Ordered a large vodka and coke and had the same amount of coke as vodka. Paid what was asked, no problem. Went back same again and charged £1.30 less. I queried this because I didn't want the young lady who served me getting in trouble. The original bar lady, who i can only describe as a southern Bett Lynch looked at me disdainful and said she didn't charge you for the splash of coke. WHAT!! £1.30 for a touch of coke and said I don't make the prices that's what it is. Unbelievable. Tried to get in touch with the corporate head office. There isn't one. Was told to ring a pub the following day and someone might be there to answer my query. Never again. Rip off of the highest order. No wonder the pub industry...

Being local and regularly having a great dining experience here I'm not quite sure why I've yet to leave a review. But today went above and beyond when after calling at late notice to book a table 02/01/22 we were advised the restaurant was fully booked but we could try for an un-bookable bar table so we decided to take a chance. Within 5 or so minutes of us leaving we were called by Kyle who had dealt with our original call to advise that a table had become unexpectedly free in the restaurant if we would like to book. Can't beat that for service! And we were very grateful as when we arrived bar tables had been taken. So thanks to Kyle we got to enjoy a usual delcious meal, today, Steak, cooked perfectly medium for my son, trout for hubby and delicious game and red wine open pie for me and delicious desserts too, would...

What a gorgeous pub. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The food was exquisite. Best steak my husband says he's ever had. Melt in the mouth. Lovely starter, mains & dessert. Staff were friendly & attentive but not in your face. I think our waiter was called Greg, and he was very polite. We did book a table, but a September evening, early week, it probably wasn't necessary. Outside seating for warmer days. There's a beautiful original flagstone floor & the place is full of charm. We will definitely return.

Old pub in local area tastefully maintained and it’s character has not been lost , still has the original flag stone floor in areas of the pub. Food is good pub food although the food I ordered (fish pie ) was Luke warm when it arrived ( I like my food hot ) staff were accommodating and brought it back hot 👍 Overall nice meal with friends great to see pubs still having lots of support in these trying times .
