Booked week in advance for two separate occasions, all seemed well until being greeted by a less than happy young girl in brightly coloured shorts, rudely said that we would be lucky if she had a table outside (already booked it!) Sat us in the corner of a patio area on picnic bench,ok cool. Then ants started crawling up our legs..... Despite her frosty greeting, we were served by the nicest most polite, efficient young girl, who couldn't do enough for us! Food was pub standard food nice enough. Came to pay, same excellent waitress assisted to which I voiced my concerns of the ill mannered greet we received, it seems this girl is quite the bully and has had many complaints about her, is even unkind to her co-workers.... visit no'1. Return for another pre booked meal, to find a tiny round table situated in full beam of mid day scorching sun! Asked for a shaded table to be told none available even though I'm not blind there were several, moved inside to a table where it was a clear through way for staff as during our meal we must have been past more than 100 times by servers, now I don't expect to made to feel like the queen however I don't expect to be made to feel a nuisance and that's exactly how I felt by merely asking for a table that anyone having booked in advance would expect to be put in a good position, not dumped in the middle on a tin table in the raging Sun and then being spoken to like a naughty child that dare ask to be seated out of the heat..... if you're looking for ok food (deep fried oven chips) and rip off price drinks (Can of coke £2.80)book here, and as for service it's pot luck who you get as most of them privaliged like they're doing you a favour by you being in there. Visit no'2. And last will also be passing on to many who ask of recent outings to which we go on many! So thanks fox inn but not...
Read moreWe are so happy we ended up going out last night! It is exceptionally rare that we find somewhere that impresses us this much. We were greeted immediately, shown to a table whilst we waited for a larger table to be available for us, once the larger party had left. We rang at 7:30 and arrived at 8, despite them being busy we were accommodated for. The waitress was so polite and so caring towards us, she didn't miss a beat! She made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Our cutlery, asked if we wanted more drinks, checked if everything was okay, which is a rarity these days. The professionalism was outstanding. This place had the the best atmosphere we have ever felt. We didn't have to wait too long for our drinks, food or desserts. The food was by far the best we have had in a very long time, if not ever! It has always been very difficult for me to find a place that I feel comfortable in, due to being on the A spectrum. The lighting, heating, staff, seating and music were all spot on. Everything was done perfectly. I never leave a restaurant without feeling overwhelmed and stressed, we avoid going out most of the time because there is always one aspect that ends up triggering me. Usually our drinks don't turn up, our food isn't cooked properly or turns up cold, we don't have much luck, but faith is restored now we have found the perfect place. This is the first time I have ever enjoyed going out without there being any issues. Thank you to everyone at The Fox 🦊 we had the best night. Even out six month old baby agrees! Not a peep from him, just smiles and...
Read moreWe were staying at Mill Farm and it’s such a lovely walk here. We were a family 8 adults 2 children 1 baby and a dog! We were called in the morning and asked if we wished to pre book the roast, we didn’t have a problem with this although it may of been our down fall perhaps we should of ordered when we arrived as the starters were hot and cooked fresh. The majority had the roast beef & 2 chicken, we were so looking forward to it as the pictures and reviews looked amazing. Sadly the beef it’s self was awful cooked lovely but full of fat and chewy, it was in all the portions not just one, the chicken was better but had to go back for a blast, as all the food was lukewarm tbh, the cauliflower cheese was super, one plate was missing the cheesy leaks although those that had it said the leaks were hard and the sauce was watery, one plate was minus the horseradish, we are most certainly not a family of moaners far from it tbh, but when asked after our meal was everything ok. we very politely told the lady that the meat was awful and she said she would feed the information back to the kitchen it wasn’t her fault personally but our plates full of uneaten fatty sirloin beef spoke for itself. We heard no more from the staff with regards to our disappointment, so £288 later we paid our bill and most certainly wouldn’t recommend the roast beef and sadly due to the lack of manners from the kitchen we wouldn’t return to this establishment, such a disappointment as we stayed at Mill Farm in there...
