The food as with all Establishments in the group was “Top Shelf “ but we have come to expect that. Possibly because we could only be seated in the bar when we requested a few minutes to consider the menu it was 25 minutes before someone came out and asked if anyone had taken our order, the main then arrived in reasonable time. Sad to say it happened again with the desert. It concluded with us being among the last to leave. I understand we were in the bar but that should not excuse the fowl language being used by some at the bar. I suffer from hearing loss and thought I had miss-heard but my daughter and her partner assured me I had not, they were somewhat shocked and they both work in the ambulance service so are sadly exposed to this disgusting behaviour sometimes because of severe pain, mental illness or substance abuse I never heard any member of staff, checking this behaviour. Since COVID we have been to all but two establishments in the group those being the W/Bridge and P/Mill not always in my name but that of my daughter, S in Law and friends The Swan stands out as five stars all round and that is apparent the moment you walk through the door. You are approached by professional, attentive, friendly staff and that standard is maintained throughout your visit. Well I write as I find. I try to be objective in all my reviews. Some very good some not so good if it is a poor review I will make a private complaint to seek explanation or resolution.
Thank you Mr R...
Read moreAbsolutely horrendous service this evening when I popped in for a quick evening meal and drink. So wait in queue for service, when I was eventually seen I asked to order food, and was told needed table number So had to comb the pub garden for a free table. Couldn't see number, so I had to ask staff what was number, which turns out to be on a very tiny plaque in corner, same colour as bench. Back in the queue again, eventually get to my turn, 3 members of staff ignoring to serve me. Waited for a few more minutes, ordered food and went back out to bench. Which had now been taken by someone else. So found another bench, and placed my drink on a tray with cutlery etc for a meal so someone knows It has been taken. Queue up again to let them know I am on different bench. When I got back to the bench the drink tray and cutlery had been taken. So get a member of staff to help out and complain, my drink was replaced, and food was served, but no cutlery which I had to wait again. So went to start my meal, no vinegar, asked staff and was told to queue up again for that. Absolutely disgusting, avoid this place...
