I’ve visited this beautiful English pub twice during my visit to the Suffolk region and both times were fabulous. The customer service is far above what we have experienced in most food venues and almost feels like family. The building itself is beautiful, rustic and tastefully decorated inside and also has great outdoor seating for those warmer days. The food is of a very high standard, with every meal well executed and a good variety of options to choose from. Don’t miss the opportunity to seek out this wonderful pub. It’s hidden away off the main road so you’re not likely to stumble across it by accident. If I’m ever back in the area, it will be an absolute ‘must do’ on my list of places to visit again.

We popped in for a roast dinner earlier this evening as we were passing by the area. We called about an hour beforehand and were luckily able to get a table. The service was great throughout, especially the young blonde girl (sorry didn't get your name), but she was really sweet, polite and accommodating. We both had a roast dinner, one chicken, one veggie and we both agreed it was the best roast dinner we have had in a long time. Everything was cooked perfectly. My chicken was so delicious and tender. The creamy Leeks were to die for. Honestly cannot recommend this place anymore if you're nearby and need some delicious food. Will definitely return if we're in the area. Thanks again.

Arrived without booking on a Wednesday at around 5.15pm and there were a few tables not reserved. The service was great, the food and drinks were great. Really nice atmosphere, log fire in one room with the adjacent room a lot lighter with plenty of windows. Prices seemed reasonable for 2025. Our little girl was offered a high chair, crayons and colouring in sheets on arrival. I think on busier days will definitely need to book and the car park although empty on arrival, by 6.30ish it was chaos with people blocking the narrow road looking for a space. Overall would definitely recommend. Just book ahead and be mindful of parking.

Not coming back there !

We have visited on Sunday for the dinner and the service was really arrogant and disgusting behaviour with no manners. Especially young maybe teenage blond girl who seemed to be really rude, and without any comon sense or a clue she was doing. "You work in hospitality where you getting payed" ! Leave your moodiness and arrogancy somewhere else but don't bring it to work and with customers! We opened the doors and the greeting was " you alright " what are we your street friends ? ! .. then she pointed out to table where to sit and kept talking to group of young guys on the bar .. Sat there for a while while she was leaning on some guys. The table was dirty, sticky and saucy. So we said if she can kindly wipe our table and she gave as such a disgusting look and said "yea" she wiped the table as she was afraid to touch the table , barely cleaned it and walked away . Me and my friend just looked at each other with thinking " should we go away ?as this isn't normal and her attitude was beyond normality. It felt really personal. Anyway we moved on and ordered food and drink. Her little till tablet was literally next to her when she was taking our order. It's been 10 minutes since I asked for a half pint of Coke..." i forgot to put it through. .. seriously? we just talking to you and u taking our order. Anyway.. we both had a burgers which burger and fries were fantastic! The coleslaw was the smallest coleslaw portion in the world and it was half of it. And it looked like its been reused (What a joke )!. When we get a bill it was saying 1x Coke £3- I had a half of Coke and not a Pint which i made it clear to that horrible waitress. She seemed shocked and arrogantly said half pint of Coke is £3 and Pint of Coke is £3.50 we just charge extra £0.50 for another half to make it a pint. .. this was so weird and also I knew she was lying and was caught in the moment of that. It was super embarrassing on her and yet rude. I do run a restaurant in elsewhere so I know how all this works. However we will never come back to this place again! The worst place ever. Really really disgusting and disappointing seemed to be run by young kids with attitude , arrogancy and disgusting behaviour.

PS: Young blond "waitress" change your attitude and be polite. It doesn't cost a thing. Maybe hospitality...

The food was absolutely delicious... great portions, great quality and great value. Disappointingly the hospitality wasn't great, no personal service. I had made a reservation for 4 people, we had an extra child with us which we advised when contacted to confirm the reservation. We were told the booking was for 4 so this could not be accommodated as the pub was fully booked and busy. We absolutely understood as it was unplanned, however there is a way of handling such situations. The staff were so unaccommodating, it made us feel like an inconvenience and unwelcome although we squeezed into our table for 4 out of anyone's way. There was no consideration or attempt to accommodate us although we wouldn't have wanted any fuss it would have been nice for us to be acknowledged or an apology or some kind words. With a little thought, compassion and kindness there were tables free that could have been adjusted or arranged to accommodate us without disrupting any other guests but nothing was done to make us welcome....
