Visited The Two Magpies Bakery twice late Friday and lunch time Saturday, later was a rainy day and all seating was taken so decided to do another take away. The counter of cakes, pastries, sausage rolls, etc looked fantastic but unfortunately couple items never lived up to the look, the cinemon Swirl on the Friday afternoon was dry on outer ring, with the centre lot better and as should be, the sausage roll was greasy and in the bag with it come a grey hair, luckily I understand these things happen and finialy the lemon slice had to much peel and was very tart for our tastes. The potion sizes are generous and prices good for range on offer. The Bakery looked very popular so I'm sure we never got the best on our visits, We are staying close and if we return we will give another try.

A nice little stop off before starting our drive home from Southwold. Dog friendly which is a huge plus for us, and they were truly welcoming to the dogs and made sure we knew where the water bowl was. The latte was a little small for my tastes and had to wait to drink due to the heat/glass vessel it was served in - worth the wait though as very good coffee. I had the Mexican brunch which was really good and felt not too naughty, though I chased it down with a piece of bread pudding! My partner had the welsh rarebit which was delicious. Lacking a little in atmosphere perhaps but I would gladly visit again and would be interested in checking out the baking courses if they coincided with a future visit.

Not quite what we expected when we stopped by on our car journey, but certainly wasn't dissapointed! Lots of lovely cakes and food - we had a big cheese straw, sausage roll and some triple choc fudge cake, all of which went down well with the whole family. The real Hot Choc was also nice! Little people enjoyed spying through the window to watch the cake making, which was good. Cafe itself hasnt got loads of space, I think we would have struggled to take the pram in and park it next to a table when we was there as it was fairly busy, but there was a highchair available so it all worked itself out. Worth visiting if you are popping past and need a stop off...!

I absolutely adore Two Magpies Darsham. It has quickly become my family's favourite café. The food and drink is just as lovely as the staff. As a customer you immediately feel part of the Darsham Magpies family with such welcoming, kind hearted, always happy staff.

After only a few visits I once came to Darsham Magpies whilst I was working and despite my mask and my work clothing making me look completely different, I was recognised instantly by, who my family I would rate as, their best staff member, Jasmin.

Having worked almost only in catering, including 4 years in a cafe similar to Darsham Magpies, I understand that coffee isn't as easy to make as some may think. To this effect the coffee at a café can differ based on who makes it.

Jasmin is by far their best barista and we always hope she is working when we arrive. I came in today at about 10 past 4, where there was a lot of choice of cakes and delights still available including multiple Gluten Free options.

I placed my order and could see Jasmin was behind the coffee machine. Despite being busy when I came to the counter, she knew my coffee order without me or her colleague having to repeat it. If that isn't a model employee I don't know who is.

I watched how our drinks were made as Jasmin makes our mocha drinks at a much higher level than others seem to and she takes the time to melt the chocolate with a little bit of hot milk which brings out the gorgeous taste of the chocolate used.

The food options at Darsham account for allergens whilst offering a varied amount of choice where others tend to only offer a GF brownie or Caramel Pecan Slice.

All in all, Darsham are outstanding and I have struggled so far to find anyone who even remotely rivals them in quality, options and...

Just returned from a very disappointing lunch at the Two Magpies. Staff were slow and totally disorganised. We watched 2 waitresss go to serve same table, but we never got one. We had to wait for a long time for menus to be brought to us, and another wait for drinks. Eventually when the 3 meals arrived the potato wedges were soggy and cold. After we finished, our dirty plates and cups sat for ages on our table, with no one asking if we wanted more drinks, which we did, or to ask if we wanted dessert. Eventually we had to go to serve ourselves, joining a long queue with others who just came in for take away. Yes it's a bank holiday, but you know you will be busy so get more staff, or at least better staff. As we left our table was still covered with dirty cups, and plates and platters. I never expected this of a business which I thought was highly regarded in all its areas. First...

Since it opened, my drop-in visits, splitting up the journey from suffolk to Norfolk, have always been presented with a tempting counter of good looked breads, cakes and pastries all made on site (I think) using fabulous ingredients. Cinnamon whirls, marmite whirls, ciabatta and empanadas all very very nice..... Over time though that range never seems to change so the visits have got further and further apart because it's getting a little bit boring :/ and then today's good looking cheese and tomato melt toastie was served straight from the microwave and just disintegrated into pulp in my hands. In fairness to the counter staff they did apologise, gave a refund and a replacement (great service that!), unfortunately the grumpy chef just dished up another identically soggy melt which went straight in the bin. I'm sad to say that I think that's it for me now and will be driving past...
