A Sunday Roast is a very special meal, a treat even. Following a post on Facebook by The White Horse, Church Road, Felixstowe IP11 9NF, the two of us decided to try them out. We booked a table over the phone for 1pm. We arrived and were shown to our table. There didn't seem to be many in the restaurant area but it turned out there was a large family group in the beer garden behind the pub. There was a choice of Beef or Turkey. We ordered the beef. It did take a while to arrive but was worth the wait. A good amount of perfectly cooked beef, sliced thickly enough, with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, string beans, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Neither of us had the yorkshire pud by choice. It was delicious and well worth the £12.95p it cost. Thanks to the team at The White Horse and please keep us the good work.

First time visiting since reopening. We booked a table for 4 for a family meal. We arrived and no one was at the bar. We waited for what seemed like an eternity to be greeted by a lady who couldn't find our booking and it turned out it had been written into the wrong day. Not to worry, we ordered some drinks and found a table. After a while we realised we would have to go to the bar to order our food so after a quick game of hide and seek to find some menus we had a browse through and decided nothing really stood out and we would probably be waiting a long time for food due to the obvious lack of staffing. We decided to leave and go somewhere else, best decision we made that evening.

First time back after New management took over.very friendly staff with a nice little menu for a good price.food was very nice and good quality. Should also be having a lighter lunch menu added soon which would be a great addition. Please go give them a try and help make it a fantastic pub .Great outside space aswell brilliant for summer and kid friendly.

Wow what an absolute shame choosing to eat here. I mean I'll start from the beginning - firstly we waited half an hour after ordering our food to finally be brought out starters without the mains, even though we had clearly specified we wished the starters and the mains to be brought out together. Once the starters did come we were told 'sorry but the mains are now being plated up,' which they obviously were not because we waiting almost another half an hour for them to come out... So an long hour wait for our meals. Which wouldn't normally have been a problem but we'd booked a fright night slot at Landguard Fort at 10:00pm and had arrived at the pub at 8:00pm and the food wasn't served to us till 9:05pm! Anyway, once the food did come, it was the most miserable plates of food we'd ever seen. I had the chicken chassure which consisted of two small pieces of chicken on what was basically a huge plate of cold lumpy mashed potatoe with a small amount of luke warm sauce floating round the bottom. I took one look at it and immediately thought this looks terrible. But looks can be deceiving and because we we're all both worried about being late and we we're hungry I attempted to eat it... I couldn't. It was grim. It tasted exactly how it looked. Cold and lumpy and I wasn't happy paying £12.00 something for just a huge plate of mashed potato. I wanna just clear something up. I've never, ever sent food back in my life. I'm a greedy person and I looove food. So this was a first for me and I eat out fairly often and I'm not fussy with food either. So it had to be bad. I sent it back and apologised to the lady serving (obviously wasn't her fault) I couldn't justify paying the money. My partners meal was pathetic (I should have taken photos) he ordered the veggie sizzler, it consisted of a few sliced of pepper in bbq sauce, two wraps and I guess some cottage cheese? There wasn't even enough to feed a child. Also they got the order wrong. He asked for chips and they gave him rice, although they again apologised and brought out chips instead which was good because all 6 foot 4 of him would have been very hungry indeed. My two friends ordered pies which again were cold with no meat in them (they were meat pies) and the mash was cold and lumpy. We asked to see the manager because we we're not happy as you might have guessed but when the manager/chef came out to ask what was wrong; she didn't really try to apologise but instead kept trying to justify herself saying that the meals were fine but then did admit the mash was not good. She also said that she gave my dinner to her staff who said they didn't see a problem with. Firstly that is an incredibly unprofessional statement to make. Secondly you must take responsibility for your mistakes and do not try and justify yourself. Just apologise and ask if there's anything you can do to rectify the problem. I mean where has customer service gone these days!? Anyhow we all complained and she basically didn't like that we hadn't enjoyed her cooking - I mean it could have at least come out warm. She did take my meal off the bill and knocked £2.00 off the meatless pies each. She then said that she hoped this experience won't put us off coming back which it has obviously because nobody wants cold, rubbish food served to them, and when complaining be told your wrong. We finally got out at 9:45 and still ended up paying £75.00 over all for an awful experience... Cheers...

This is a pub that I ment to go to years ago but never got round to it. So thought I'd give it a try with the wife... Looked nice from the outside and it didn't disappoint once we had entered the establishment...

HELPFUL? LEAVE A RESPONSE OR 'LIKE' THANK YOU

All the right beers are on tap like Guinness, Hobgoblin, Ghostship... Staff really helpful and pleasant to talk too... Nice customers who we spoke to... also very clean & tidy toilets...

Expect to pay a little more for drinks, but it's worth every penny... My wife was even more happy with this place as I pointed out there was no pool table for me to disappear to for the next 3hrs or so, I on the other hand would have loved a game of pool but I suppose that type of thing sometimes attracts the wrong type of custom... Didn't have any food so can't comment on this aspect but I noticed they had about 4 or 5 dining tables that would take approx 4 to 6 per table. A very strong 4 out of 5 stars!! I do still feel that if I was eating I wouldn't be to happy with dogs being around, having just a drink I don't have a problem as long as there quite and well behaved!!

My brother booked a table here so I called for allergy advice in advance to check what my boy could have as none of it is listed on the website.

The manager wasn't able to answer the question but walked in to speak to the chef who also couldn't answer. They said they'd call me back but never did. Eventually I chased them and she answered stating they were busy and that she would call me back again. This time they did, informing me what he could have but the entire tone was very poor. I've called up loads of restaurants asking for allergy advice and this was by far the worst experience.

Eventually we turn up for our meal only to find that they have an incredibly loud live band. We had informed them we had 2 babies attending on the booking and the music was not appropriate for their ears so we had to cancel.

Overall a...
