We visited on a cold evening with family to meet up with some friends who live local. As soon as you walk in it has an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Shown to our seats in the conservatory and scrolled down the menu. There were 15 of us at the table and everybody found something that they wanted. They adapted something for my 4 year old son and he demolished the lot! What was great is that the children received their meals just before ours arrived and gave us time to sort them out! This meant that we could really enjoy ours. I had the halloumi burger which was beautifully cooked and a great chunk of cheese, I was happy. My husband had the fox burger which was impressive and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Kids had full size pizzas, these were freshly made to order with proper toppings. We had a table of empty plates for our waitress. She looked after us all amazingly well. After our meal, we sat infront of the fire and the kids had cuddles from the pubs extremely friendly dog. Thank you for such an tasty meal and making us feel very welcome. We will be back on our next visit to see friends for sure. It really makes a change to go somewhere that gets everything just right. A proper English pub with good customer service, family friendly and...

We had a table booked for six last night. The food was lovely...even tho 5 meals came out 10 minutes before the 6th. The service however was dismal. The lady in charge of the bar was strident and stern faced and didn't seem to want to be there,. We received no welcome apart from a loud reprimand to keep away from the bar. We asked for our table and was told to " just go sit where you want...we don't take bookings " !! It was very quiet for a saturday night but even so, no one came to ask if we had everything we needed, no one asked if we wanted desert, in fact once all 6 meals were finally there no one else came near apart from to clear the plates. There were 3 people behind the bar and yet it still took 5 minutes to get the attention of someone to order a round....even tho there was nobody else at the bar. We won't be going back...Ā£200 for what was a good main course and a few rounds of drinks would have been fine if we hadn't been made to feel like we were in the staff's way. 2 stars for the food....even tho we weren't offered pudding! And no track and...

Had an evening meal first impression bar staff miserable was shown to our table in the conservatory by a nice member of staff very chatty shame bar lady couldn't be so welcoming. Had to order at bar as apparently not enough staff, ordered food from the miserable girl behind bar asked for lasagne to be told no lasagne so went for the burger,my husband ordered hunters chicken. Drinks were nice and reasonably priced, when food arrived was impressed by portion size unfortunately it went down hill from there, my burgers we're cheap processed burgers, chips were definitely frozen chips they were warm and rubbery obviously been left under heat lamp for a while disappointing. My husband's chicken was not chargrilled as would have expected for hunters chicken dish instead it was anemic in colour and looked as if it had been boiled. Reading other reviews definitely a drinkers pub as my lemonade and lime was tasty but most definitely not for food sorry won't be back for food but maybe a...

Decent size car park with plenty of outdoor tables (although a little grubby) and a children's play area. Fairly quiet for a Sunday lunchtime, so service was quick. No choice of cider on tap or bottle, only a semi sweet. The dining conservatory was pleasant, although the view is the car park. Waited nearly 30 minutes for my food (halloumi wrap), spoke to the couple on the next table that ordered at the bar before me, their Sunday roast took nearly 40 minutes to be served! We all agreed though that the food was excellent and tasted fresh..so were forgiven the long wait. My only gripe was the side salad had balsamic dressing. Why? Am not keen on the taste, the polite and efficient waiter immediately took away my plate and it came back minutes later without the dressing.

AVOID if you want to book for an event! We arrived and were very disappointed to see that the food we had paid for was being displayed on a pool table, in a room with no tables or chairs….for 40 guests?! The lack of food for Ā£10 per person was embarrassing, a few trays of stale sandwiches and a small plate of prawns, onion bhaji’s, chicken nuggets and samosas. Looked like something you could buy frozen in Iceland. Good job we provided our own cake! definitely not somewhere I will be recommending or going back to. I am not someone who usually writes reviews but thought this was necessary to avoid others making the same mistake as we have not been offered any resolution.

No BACON No BURGERS No MAYONNAISE No STEAK No EGGS All were out of stock. After reporting out drinks and forgetting our water they brought our food out later and we were disappointed to say the least. They didn’t bring the cutlery out without warning and the hummus was powdery with no taste worse than Asda smart price and the pitta was stale and dry tasting and the service was poor serving the wrong meal and taking a while to bring out the right food with no staff working. Will NOT be returning!
