Great old fashioned local pub, decent beers, good food and a warm welcome. Enjoyed a couple of pints of the special Timothy Taylor Landlord Dark which was an added treat. We ate fish and chips & a giant Yorkshire with 3 Cumberland sausages, roasties, veg and gravy. All freshly cooked and spot on. I wouldn't hesitate to revisit when back in York.

Nice pub, pretty big inside and has an outside seating area too. Nice Canadian landlord. I've eaten the chips with cheese here many times and it's always yummy. Had a pint of Coors. Have also had dinner here and it's been tasty. They do also take reservations. Sometimes it has been odd when going for food though, one time a staff member seemed so flustered that we wanted food (at noon), that they said: people who are booked in for full dinners, who hadn't arrived, would have to place their orders first - before us - even though we were there already as paying customers. It was strange. We did plead that we only wanted chips, and could we just order chips now (we were on a quick break from work). They did do this but we shouldn't have had to ask 🤷🏻‍♀️ overall I've had positive experiences and have been back often. Moving jobs so will...

Extremely disappointed.

Waited 2 hours for food only for our order to be cancelled at the last minute.

Ruined our annual staff Christmas party.

When staff we challenged as to why this was we were throw out and told not to come back.

We as a group had already spent nearly £400 at the bar and was about to spend a lot more.

The staff we rude and aggressive. When the landlord arrived to try and sort the situation they lied to him about what had gone off.

The bar and kitchen staff clearly weren't coping and taking the news of a staff shortage for the next day out on us.

We were all regulars but won't...

I have just moved to Huntington and I was blessed to find that the Blacksmiths Arms is my local pub. From day one they welcomed me like a local! Both staff and other customers are so warm and friendly. I feel very comfortable sitting on my own reading a book and when I take my elderly parents, they accommodate us by giving is somewhere quiet to sit when we just want to have a drink and a chat. The 'wine by the glass' options are extensive and there is excellent free wi-fi. The Blacksmiths Arms feels like a hub of the local community and is a fantastic asset...
