Blandy's Bar and Bistro — Restaurant in England

Food was nice. The surroundings are lovely. Unfortunately this was let down by the strange experience with some of the staff. Firstly, the dessert order was incorrect which the waitress pointed out as she handed us the bill - without taking the dessert off the bill. Secondly, when we paid the bill with the waitress, we did so with Amex. Then the manager came rushing out, told us we had cost him and his business £8 by doing so (inaccurate as Amex charges around 3% per sale...). We apologised and said we hadn't been advised otherwise, and went to leave. He came rushing back with the card machine and got us to refund the payment back onto the Amex, getting us to pay again with debit. We had no chance to back out of this, as he was quite pushy about it, and we ended up having to pay with a card we weren't planning on using. This was all very strange and left us wanting to avoid coming back despite a lovely day at the spa beforehand. Work on customer service for...

I was so glad I chose Blandy’s for a recent event – a surprise afternoon tea to celebrate a 90th birthday. Blandy’s is located in a magnificent building which is set in a beautiful location and as soon as you enter the grounds, it feels exclusive and special. The venue is elegant, tastefully decorated and has a relaxed atmosphere. We could not fault the staff who were very welcoming, professional and attentive. My booking requests were attended to with calm efficiency and everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious and plentiful. The afternoon was just as I’d hoped and was enjoyed by the group, who were in no rush to leave (!) and nor was there any pressure put on us to leave by a certain time. In addition, Ionut and the team presented a celebratory slice of cake with macarons with a message in piped chocolate wishing our special guest a happy birthday – this was a surprise for us all and a really lovely touch...

A Sunday lunch at the restaurant at Blandys - excellent as always (with a few suggestions for anyone visiting).

We've used Blandys over a few years now, and post-Covid, it's as good as always and one of the aspects that pleases me is that the waitress today (the same as many other staff) are long-serving so the firm protected their staff during Covid - well done.

The ambiance, service and food was excellent as always; well done Blandys at Inglewood.

If you plan to visit, when you book, it helps to tell them if you're a vegetarian; they'll make sure you have a good choice.
