Stop here on a walk. Very pleased with friendliness of landlord Jan. I didn't had a food but saw coming out from kitchen and looks and smells delicious. I will be back there to try and update my review. Brilliant pint tho. I would recommend that place for sure ! Edit: We come back today. Yet again excellent pints and wow... food is absolutely amazing! Hats off for a chief. Surf and turf / garlic mushroom steak πŸ˜‹ wow wow wow what a meal! Perfectly cooked. That will take some beating. Set the bar for future reviews πŸ‘Œ

Don't often review but credit where it is due - For a very reasonable price we got a lovely Sunday lunch served by an amazing waitress and bar lady. Service was all you would ever ask for from a restaurant charging lots more. Attentive, polite.. 10/10 The food was a lovely perfect pub roast served in a clean restaurant area. We had beef and lamb - ate way too much.. Just perfect really.. πŸ‘πŸ» (photo doesn't include the veg that came in separate dishes)

If you're in Burnham or Brean, this little pub is an absolute must!! We were originally looking for a carvery which we'd previously been to for Sunday lunch and came across this one. The roast dinner was beautiful as was the pudding, and the service fantastic. I would definitely recommend, and be coming back when we're next in the area. Keep up the good work guys, I'll be recommending you to all my friends and family 😊 Thanks again.

Went to eat here on Sunday NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!! I am a vegetarian and I often eat in places where they bend over backwards to accommodate me, but not the BRENT KNOLL. First of all I was told off because I went to pick up a plate at the counter so I could move on to the vegetables. Did he think I was a juvenile? I hoped I would look younger than my age but that is pushing it a little at 48. His words were...Don't do that, we do that!!?? then I told the staff serving the food that I was a vegetarian and just wanted to go to the vegetable counter, so he huffily picked up the plate put a Yorkshire pudding on it and handed it over, umm did I want a Yorkshire pudding?? nice to have been asked, I had all the veg without the meat and I ordered the vegetarian gravy, then I asked for the meat to be wrapped so I could take it away with me, the girl then went to get the manageress and then it started. By the time she arrived I had sat down and was eating my food. She informed me that they offer vegetarian alternatives to the meat and that they didn't wrap the meat as it was against there policy, where was the signage explaining this? I was NOT offered any alternative so I said I would like to have the meat as I wasn't offered this and if I am paying the same price as others then I am entitled to it. She then thought she could embarrass me by explaining the script she had already recited, so again I explained I wasn't offered it so I would like meat PLEASE, but she insisted it was not going to happen because the chef wouldn't like it and she repeatedly blamed the Chef, Hello, when does a Chef tell the BOSS what to do?? She was RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONAL, if I were her boss I know where she would be next week THE JOB CENTRE! I did not like the fact that she tried to undermine me in front of a room full of people, I am a paying guest and should be treated with RESPECT considering it is my hard earned money i am spending and paying her WAGE and because I was out for a nice HAPPY QUIET meal with my son I let it go, but inside I was fuming. I have been to some VERY VERY POSH EXPENSIVE places and I have NEVER received such an appalling service. They always bend over backwards to help and usually wrap the meat and then some. I do not understand the problem she had other than Totally LAZY, she just could not be bothered. I cannot tell you how many times a staff member walked into me rather than stand back while I passed, their Attitude and Service is appalling and she should be ashamed of her behaviour, I would have reprimanded any of my staff for talking to paying customer in that way. I used this place a few years ago for a granddaughters Birthday party and we were ushered out because we had taken too long to eat our meals, it was passed 2pm. I will not ever use the place again and I am sure if they continue to treat their customers so appallingly then hopefully someone with more manners and courtesy will take...

Not a very good experience, the person in charge was extremely aggressive and did not seem to have any customer service skills. The oven was broken which we accept and understand things happen, as a result there were certain items off the menu which again fully understood. We waited a significant amount of time for the meals (again understood) and when they did come out some were inedible, there were little issues like missing sauce on the burger etc but we over looked that again. As 1 of the meals that was inedible was Β£25 we decided to nicely raise the issue to which we were met with aggression and rudeness with no acceptance of any responsility, due to them not having an oven apparently it was on us for not being more understanding although we had already over looked a lot which had no bearing on the fact there was no oven. Whilst I appreciate that working with no oven is not ideal the kitchen should not have been open if a good standard of food could not be served. We will not be returning. She literally walked over and barked "complaint?" at us!

To be clear regards the response we were not aware what tools the chef was using and did not need to be! All we needed to know is that food of a good standard would be served, to clarify the meal was not eaten as suggested it had been moved from the big plate to a smaller plate as they were aware as he was trying to find something edible. Like I also clarified we did not complain originally and when it could not be eaten we raised it to be met with aggression, if there had have been an apology and some kind of acceptance of responsibility then we would not...

Recommended that the ploughman's lunches were amazing. At Β£13.95. we were hoping. We ordered 1 of each cheese one and meat one. The place was empty at the time I ordered the lunches. They took 45 minutes to arrive at the table. The cheese one was ok except missing pickled onions. A ploughman's lunch needs pickled onions when asked where they were they had run out. The 2 slices of beef were not very pleasant. The kitchen hand needs to sample that beef. It came with 2 slices of ham, which was ok. As for the whole hot microwaved chicken breast, which was placed on top of the other meat but slightly to the side made that cold meat hot. The nice lady behind the bar was embarrassed. The big mistake I made was I paid for it before. If I had paid on leaving, I would have not paid full price. We were not offered any sort of refund. As a first time experience we will not be returning to this place. Sorry. Reply to owner 31/08/24 Take a trip over to Rich's Cider. Fantastic ploughman's lunch. Same price Β£13.95 twice as much cheese a whole mini baguette with butter and came with 2 huge pickled onions. ...
