We visited the Bridge End Inn for lunch, plenty of seating to choose from both inside and out. Warm welcome and good service throughout our meal. We ordered the chicken burger, ploughman's, chicken skewers (starter) with a side of chips and the Thai green curry which was the curry of the week. The lunchtime menu had plenty to offer with all the usual favourites. We enjoyed the chicken skewers and the chicken burger both of which went down well. I only gave four stars out of five as the Thai curry was a little lacking in flavour and as a personal preference would have preferred a few less crackers for a chunk of crusty bread with the ploughman's which was very substantial with a good selection of cheeses.

Really nice food, portion sizes good. The chicken and chorizo pasta I had was really delicious and my fiancé enjoyed his Cumberland sausage. I’ve knocked a star off because parking around this pub is shocking; it’s an entire free for all. You don’t see the bays until you’re right on top of them and then it’s too late. Another reason is service was slightly slow, and when my fiancé ordered a crumble he wanted cream, but the sweet came out with custard. I told them this and they did rectify the problem quickly. If in the area will call again.

Very friendly staff, interacted with our soon to be 2 year old toddler. Beer garden looked fairly full so we sat in the bar area which allow dogs in 👍 Really delicious burgers. The onion rings.......OMG soooooo good🤤!!! Little 1 enjoyed her scampi & fries, & scoop of choc ice cream! Extensive menu...something for all tastes. We'll definitely visit here again 🙂

First of all, let me preface this with the following: The food itself gets 5 stars, it's lovely. Chips were crunchy and fluffy, mushrooms were to die for and the steak was cooked to perfection and full of flavour.

It's also pretty easy to find and there's ample parking.

However, I have given my overall score because: whilst child friendly, trying to get to any seat carrying a toddler is difficult because the tables and chairs in the restaurant area are so close together. I get that you want to maximise space but when your servers can't bring food to the back of the room, and you can feel the person behind you's body heat, maybe you need to rethink.

The menu didn't leave much to be desired, only 2 starters that I could see. And the mains... The mains you had to go on a scavenger hunt to see the full selection of food on offer. But as I was at the back of the room I didn't feel comfortable rubbing myself past 6 strangers to see the menu. Pork and salmon were the other choices I found out after we'd ordered.

*They'd changed the menu the weekend we dined there, which to a point is fair enough, but must have been a snap decision for them to not have changed the physical menu.

As mentioned in my food review, I ordered the steak. Rare. Which was great, and reasonably priced at around £15. For £3 more you got a generous helping of a sauce of your choice which was tasty too, however it took them nearly 10 minutes to bring the sauce out and we had to ask 3 times. I get that it's busy, but I wasn't letting my meal go cold while I waited for sauce.

On to portion size. If you're a big eater, this isn't a place for you. Although, I will say, I got a generous portion of steak, but I suppose if it was less than 10oz there'd be all kinds of kick offs. I got enough mushrooms too and one half of a tomato is enough. But there was no other veg. I would haven't expected a mountain of them but maybe at least some peas! I think you got them with every other meal...? Onion rings was only just barely the truth. 2, really? As I say of you're a big eater you're going to be left wanting more.

As for dessert, the portion was decent but I'm still waiting for the lime in the strawberry and lime cheesecake to come through. I can't really offer any more on the dessert though, I don't normally order one but I was still so hungry.

All in all its a decent enough place to visit, but I think it tries to mix pub grub a little too much with restaurant dining a little too much and achieves neither, which causes it to lose its identity...

Looks nice from the outside , rave reviews , advertised as dog friendly ... that's where the flannel ends ... Penultimate night in the local area drove past a few times and noticed Quiz Night Tuesday , checked to confirm it was 100% dog friendly as we have a Lab and all was good ... well until we got there ... the pub is dog friendly in the right hand side a 12' x 12' room with more tables than space ... quiz night everyone was next door (NOT dog friendly) so me and the wife were told we had to sit in the box room to do the quiz as the dog couldn't go next door (where EVERYONE else was) sadly didn't sound like fun ... then to hear the remark "Well who would bring a dog to the quiz" from the obnoxious woman behind the bar put not only Nayvee's hackles up but mine also ... not such a dog friendly pub after all and the staff even less friendly ... So the review is for all you dog lovers ... walk straight past as the welcome and the room you are allowed to drink in are on an equal footing ......

The food was good enough, in the average, no complain, but there were two things I didn’t like. First: when I was presented the bill, the Margherita pizza was 1£ more and the garlic pizza 2£ more than the price shown on the menu. I pointed out both the mistakes, one at a time, to the cashier and without apologizing he told me: “ok, I’ll take 2£ off” and then “ok, I’ll take 1£ more off” as if it was a favor. He was visibly annoyed and embarrassed at the same time. I’m sure they were not mistakes, he just tried to charge me more, maybe because I’m a foreigner, I don’t know. Just a reminder if you eat there to check your bill before paying.

Second: since I was hiking in the rain I arrived super wet and, even if the inn was empty, they gave me the table close to the entrance door, the coldest one, I guess because it’s the worst spot no one wants.

Nothing serious but I...
