Location is lovely. Service started OK but deteriorated quickly. Seated fine and drinks order taken. Waited a while had to ask for menu, waitress was clueless when asked about veggie options available. I asked about a veg chilli or the veggie option for the roast. Waited 75 mins for food to arrive without knowing what I'd be getting. The veggie roast was basically veg the meat alternative forgotten covered in unwanted and unasked for salty sweet gravy. After such a wait just ate it. Sat for all that time without a second drink tried to catch waitresses eye repeatedly as movement was discouraged. Asked about dessert n told they where on the board which we couldn't see due to our location. Much anticipated and sadly poor service. Would not recommend.

I've always loved the cosy, relaxed atmosphere here and again this didn't disappoint, so I would recommend if you were looking to just go for a nice chilled drink. As for the food - apparently burnt, black beef is acceptable to serve. I genuinely couldn't believe these dishes left the kitchen and were allowed to be given to paying customers. We didn't complain, we just ate the acceptable parts, paid and left. Maybe we should have complained but we were left so disappointed, we just couldnt be bothered with any hassle. I have eaten here plenty of times in the past, albeit a few years ago and the food was nice. Unfortunately though we wont eat here again anytime soon which is a shame because we really love the surroundings here.

Booked a table here for lunch and asked for a quiet table for our wedding anniversary. Great welcome from the staff, and treated to a prosecco each for our anniversary. We had drinks outside while choosing our meal and then inside for lunch. I ordered scampi while husband had gammon steak. I'm always wary of ordering scampi (as always seems to be out a bag) but this was lovely and practically fell apart (in a good way). Gammon steak was cooked beautifully not tough or chewy. Sides were peas which tasted fresh/earthy and chunky chips which were huge. Overall food was lovely, drinks were good and reasonably priced £4.50: for bitter and £9 for aperol spritz. We will definitely be back here and can recommend it.

Booked a table well in advance of opening. You would of thought that given this was after the third lockdown they would be able to run smoothly......how wrong were we...

After waiting at the 'Please wait here to be seated sign for over 15 minutes and catching the eye of 3 members of staff with a long queue forming, we were ushered to a picnic bench to the side of our booked heated eating area, we waited over 30 minutes to be offered drinks plus our food order, we eventually received our drinks after waiting a further 20 minutes and it went down hill from there really.

Point 1 - Sorry the reservation you made (heated booth) is no longer available due to the fact people are still drinking, and food unfortunately has run over.

Point 2 - When a free booth became available it was given to another family which hadn't booked, but because they had a baby they are going to sit there instead. (We were quite forgiving of that fact)

Point 3 - Another booth vacated so once again asked if we could now sit there.....result!!!!

May I add at this point that we had been waiting for nearly 2 hours....

Point 3 - Please train your staff to acknowledge customers in order of arrival, people who arrived well after us received drinks and food within 1 hour 😔, absolutely disgusting service, to add insult to injury they binned our starters as they thought we had left the premises because your staff were clueless.

PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME THEY CLEARLY DON'T WANT YOUR CUSTOM, YOU HAVE BEEN...

First meal out of lockdown and to say it was mediocre is an understatement. There is no "covid secure" - despite us being told that we could not move tables due to this. Not once did I see a table being cleaned!!! Our drinks order was taken before we even sat down or looked at a menu and then took over 15 mins to be brought to our table. After about 45 mins I asked if we could place our food order. We were moved to another table as I requested - but again this one was not cleaned. My steak was no where near the RibEye it should have been and the chips were a brown colour, soggy and a bit oily - you could tell that they had been cooked in old oil. It took a long time to get our meal! The pepper sauce was very runny and tasted nothing like peppercorn! The service was shocking as only two people outside running around taking orders, delivering food and drinks and when we asked if they were short staffed - instead of just saying that maybe they did not expect to be so busy and did not have enough staff the story was that the internet in Stoak is bad!! The only saving grace of the lunch was the Pinot!! If this is the first week of trading - then trying to make a good impression and get people back should be top of the list and this did not seem the case. The people behind us left after waiting an age for just their drinks and not even a food order taken. Come on Bunbury - sort your food and service out if you want...

Turned up without booking. Found an available table to sit 8 people, asked staff member if they were still serving food.. she said yes... went to the bar all ordered drinks and sat at the table then to be told we couldn't sit there by another member of staff as we hadn't booked and we had a dog which wasn't allowed in that side of the pub. So went to the bar to ask if they were serving food outside, she said yes... something that should of been offered to us as an alternative to leaving after being seated already. Food came cold had to he reheated in the Microwave. Soup of the day was uneadable so asked to swap for a bowl of chips to be told ,NO that nobody else had complained about the soup that day bare in mind the soup starter was double the price of chips. Asked 2 members of staff for extra gravy was blatantly ignored and just walked past us. Awful service terrible customer service by the manager and staff . Staff looked fed up and unfriendly and more bothered about tucking into their roast than serving a table of 8 paying customers. The roast dinner itself was actually really nice just a shame...
