Despite the sign outside declaring that this is the best place in the area for lunch, I would advise differently. Three of us called today (Thursday) bought drinks and ordered a Haddock, chips and peas; a Lasagne and a Gammon, Egg, Grilled Pineapple slice and chips. There was only a family of 4 and us . . . I was informed that they had no eggs (WHAT?) so they couldn't give me Gammon, Egg and Pineapple. I asked for an extra slice of pineapple instead. Sorted! 15 minutes later, a very nervous young man came through from the kitchen, apologising profusely and explained that he was a trainee, the 2nd Chef wasn't present so my friend couldn't have the fish dinner; instead he could have a free dessert . . . They had fish, but he wasn't allowed to cook it. Absolutely unbelievable! What sort of place opens for lunches, advertise themselves as serving the best lunches in the area yet has no qualified chef available, no waitresses, just two young men to run the bar and the kitchen?
