Cosy place for a drink and catch up over a tasty bite to eat, this place was charming if a little challenging for a wobbler like me.
The flagstones seem original, they are quaint, bumpy and slightly uneven so I used my stick and a good dose of caution, but almost came unstuck because the floor also slopes slightly 😳 my foot sinking further than I anticipated before finding the floor caused a slight stumble and confusion.
The slope is gentle and once I was aware of it I was able to compensate for it, tightening my brace also helped keep my toes from catching on the edges of the flag stones.
There is a wide central aisle to the counter where the menu is shown on chalk boards, friendly helpful staff take your order and payment then bring your purchases to the table, just select condiments and utensils.
My wheelchair could have fit through the door and the first table could accommodate a wheelchair with the traditional seat removed and just enough space to manoeuvre but my wheelchair wouldn't have reached the counter.
Staff said they'd be happy to take an order at the table and the menu was full of hearty sweet and savoury treats, soups and drinks, a bookshelf near the door has games books and other items and the walls are decorated with local photos and items...
Read moreWe stopped here today for a snack after we'd been on a fab walk around the cliff tops. I ordered the cream tea, and my boyfriend had a bacon roll. The cream tea was delicious, the scone was just hot perfection! I was however immensely jealous of my boyfriend's bacon roll! It arrived in a fab tiger bap with Davidstow cheese, colourful salad, and the thickest bacon I've seen in quite a while! They apologised for the lack of crisps as we did arrive late in the day, but gave him some leftover roast potatoes as a consolation, which he was more than pleased with!! The staff who served us were really friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent! I can really see why even though it's February, they had constant customers arriving, and leaving happy and full! Definitely worth a visit, and we will definitely be going back....I want...

My second gripe is that the dog bowls outside are incredibly dirty and one is full of gangrene. As a dog owner, this is upsetting to see as they harbour bacteria which is harmful to dogs. Cleaning them would only take 5 minutes.
My feedback to the owners is to be more realistic and honest on pricing. If you rip people off they won’t come back (maybe you do great off people only coming once so don’t need a lot repeat customers?), and, keep your dog bowls clean. It’s great you allow dogs but there are standards that should be kept which is just good practice (and...
