Third time coming here in a couple of months and it's safe to say, it's our new favourite place. In fact, it's the only Sunday lunch my husband will eat that isn't cooked by myself... so win win for me and I've now got out of slaving away on more than one occasion! Great choice of meats, you can have one meat or mixed (which is huge!), plenty of sides/veg, Yorkshire puds to die for, plenty of condiments and plenty of gravy... which is great as my husband likes his swimming! The chap that took our order (pretty sure he runs the place) is so friendly, chatty and hospitable, we really wouldn't go anywhere else and highly recommend!

A fabulous cosy place. Great fresh tasty food and drinks. I had the lamb dinner which was perfectly cooked. And really loved the dessert, which was a sweet and zingy mandarin and orange cheesecake. The staff are wonderful and so friendly, and they are super attentive and caring. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

To start with the good bits, the young lad serving was excellent. Really happy and polite. We ordered paninis, I've always had a long panini wherever I've been. This was just like a roll instead. It was all ok...noting extraordinary.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would.

I booked an afternoon tea for 29/03/2025 for my mum and my family for Mother’s Day. We were stood for 15 minutes before even being seated and we had to ask if we could be seated. When we got to our table finally no one came and served us, we ended up going up to order our drinks. These still didn’t arrive after 20 minutes. My mum had to go up and ask if anyone was going to serve us. We had been waiting now for over 30 minutes. The girl came over to serve us finally and we asked what were in the sandwiches for the afternoon tea (which they had already told us they’d prepared) she didn’t know, my younger sister didn’t want the afternoon tea so ordered sausage and chips the girl said she would have to check if they had that then walked off for another 15 minutes and hadn’t let us know if they had that meal nor what were in the sandwiches. We also still hadn’t had any drinks bought to us!!! We ended up getting up and asking for a refund for our drinks. No apology, no gesture of good will, no nothing!!!! I stated this was for Mother’s Day and the service has been disgusting and still no apology. Then tried to refund only £5 for a glass of wine and 4 soft drinks that cost over £20.

Overall terrible service, the staff in there haven’t a clue what they’re doing. It took 3 of them around a till to even figure out how to issue a refund. I’m very disappointed with this as this was for my mum for Mother’s Day and the staff here ruined it. Will never be returning here again! Just to add they weren’t even busy. Probably 4/5 tables in the restaurant so...

We went today after being told how nice it was, really disappointed 😞 the young lady behind counter greeted us with " I can't take any order without a table number" No hello or welcome. Every table in the main room was loaded with dirty plates cups etc. My sister found us a table in the carriages and was told by the young waitress oh don't sit in the first seats,as the table is really sticky!! Carriages could be lovely but they all needed a good clean and a vacuum, waitress bought our coffee which I had to return as mine was like warm! All the tables around us were dirty and piles with dirty plates and cups and we watched as the daff walked past the tables with empty hands not clearing any of the tables. Such a shame as we were looking forward to...

Used to go especially for the lasagne, it was so tasty. Not any more, since it's been taken over the food has gone downhill, today lasagne was tasteless and watery and not hot in middle, cheese on top (if it was cheese) was so thin you could see the pasta through it, think they used a cheese slice of sorts, it added nothing to the dish. I ate it cause I was hungry and at the price I wasn't going to waste it. Cup of tea could have been nice if it was hot enough. Good points were the female staff who were lovely. Guys in the kitchen need to stop the loud over use of the "f" word which could be clearly heard, this is 2nd disappointment. ...
