I stayed with my husband in lodge number 1. We had booked for 2 nights on our way home from holiday.|On seeing the room we would have left immediately but it meant that we would have had a late night drive home.|To say that the lodge needs updating is an understatement. There is still no fridge (see review from 2022) and nowhere to put clothes unless you count the coat hangers hanging from the ceiling of the small closet which would need emptying of a fold up bed, ironing board everything else stored in there first, even then I would not be able to reach the hangers without standing on a chair and the fold up bed could not be used in this lodge anyway. |No coffee maker even though they claim there is.|The floor covering was of chipped and damaged laminate. I could go on.|The room put us off trying an evening meal in the pub. But we had filled in the form for our breakfast choices as required and made do with biscuits as we had nowhere to make sandwiches in our room.|The next morning we packed and went over to the pub for breakfast to find the door locked. A lady came to the door who had no idea who we were. There was no booking for us and no breakfast. She was very kind and very embarrassed and wasn't a chef. She kindly got us some tea and toast. |The young man who I believe to be the chef arrived later. There was no apology from him, in fact there was no 'good morning', not even a smile. I have not heard from The Chiverton Arms proprietors. |I would not recommend The Chiverton Arms to anyone and needless to say, I will not be going...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed two nights. We eat in the restaurant one night. The menu is good and the portions are large. If youāre staying there itās sensible to open a tab and pay at the end. |Thereās a large car park and the breakfasts are excellent. |The rooms are comfortable in the style of 3 separate lodges to the side of the pub. The bathrooms are very small but fine for a short stay. Sadly there is no fridge in the room but apparently this is being remedied in the near future. The soundproofing in the rooms isnāt great and unfortunately there was an intermittent smell of drainsā¦but not enough to be worthy of complaint. If thereās a refurbished happening, I imagine the few glitches will be sorted .|The owners are lovely and the pub is clearly popular. It ten minutes from Truro and has easy access to the main road. |Ask for fresh milk if youāre not keen on the packaged pots. Tea & coffee in the room....
