I stayed with my husband in lodge number 1. We had booked for 2 nights on our way home from holiday.|On seeing the room we would have left immediately but it meant that we would have had a late night drive home.|To say that the lodge needs updating is an understatement. There is still no fridge (see review from 2022) and nowhere to put clothes unless you count the coat hangers hanging from the ceiling of the small closet which would need emptying of a fold up bed, ironing board everything else stored in there first, even then I would not be able to reach the hangers without standing on a chair and the fold up bed could not be used in this lodge anyway. |No coffee maker even though they claim there is.|The floor covering was of chipped and damaged laminate. I could go on.|The room put us off trying an evening meal in the pub. But we had filled in the form for our breakfast choices as required and made do with biscuits as we had nowhere to make sandwiches in our room.|The next morning we packed and went over to the pub for breakfast to find the door locked. A lady came to the door who had no idea who we were. There was no booking for us and no breakfast. She was very kind and very embarrassed and wasn't a chef. She kindly got us some tea and toast. |The young man who I believe to be the chef arrived later. There was no apology from him, in fact there was no 'good morning', not even a smile. I have not heard from The Chiverton Arms proprietors. |I would not recommend The Chiverton Arms to anyone and needless to say, I will not be going...

We stayed two nights. We eat in the restaurant one night. The menu is good and the portions are large. If you’re staying there it’s sensible to open a tab and pay at the end. |There’s a large car park and the breakfasts are excellent. |The rooms are comfortable in the style of 3 separate lodges to the side of the pub. The bathrooms are very small but fine for a short stay. Sadly there is no fridge in the room but apparently this is being remedied in the near future. The soundproofing in the rooms isn’t great and unfortunately there was an intermittent smell of drains…but not enough to be worthy of complaint. If there’s a refurbished happening, I imagine the few glitches will be sorted .|The owners are lovely and the pub is clearly popular. It ten minutes from Truro and has easy access to the main road. |Ask for fresh milk if you’re not keen on the packaged pots. Tea & coffee in the room....

Not been in here for ages so called in for a quick pint on way back home. Pub is still a great place for a drink with lots of quirky features and friendly staff. Great garden out the back which is really quiet considering proximity to the road. Decided on a whim to have some lunch and chose the Ploughman's. It was huge! Two pieces of crusty bread with two slabs of cheese, pickled onions and a pot of Branston, with a salad and some lovely home made coleslaw, which was really creamy. Really good it was, highly recommended venue

Went for a roast with my husband and got a pork and a beef, both really tender and tasty, Loads of well cooked vegetables which I love and made it great!! Food came out steaming hot but is slow down and enjoy it. Sadly had a slightly over cooked Yorkshire and potatoes were good, but never as good as home done ones hence the 4 stars… but would definitely return with friends as it is one of the better roasts we have had around Cornwall, and we’ve tried a few šŸ˜‚ . Staff and wine were really lovely.
