Truly incredible, fresh, dynamic, and modern Italian food, served by courteous, attentive, and friendly staff, that would make Mother Italy proud.

From the outside and even the inside, it looks like an unassuming, quaint local Italian restaurant.

But the food. Oh my god, the food!

We had the Funghi al Gorgonzola (sautéed mushrooms with delicious cheese and cream with fresh, toasted bread) and the Linguine allo Scoglio (exquisite seafood pasta, likely varies with availability but ours was packed with squid, muscles, cockles, salmon, and prawns in a lobster bisque with a hint of chilli that elevated the dish to a whole new level) and it was, honest to god, utterly to die for. Like “so good I thought about it the entire walk home and felt compelled to write a review about how good it was” good.

I’m flabbergasted such a talented kitchen exists in Highworth. They know good food and how to prepare and make it.

The sea food was clearly fresh, full of flavour, and tender. Pasta cooked to perfection and still with plenty of bite, well sauced but not drowning. The mushrooms and cheese weren’t oily in the slightest - it went no where near a microwave. Great portion sizes; not too big but not too small either.

They had a fantastic list of specials, which they change weekly, which all sounded fantastic and which my partner chose from and we’ve eaten entirely from in previous visits.

Great selection of wines, digestives, and desserts (again with some that vary from time to time to reward regular diners). Freshly made stone baked pizzas were also on the menu which we will check out soon. They even do takeaway. Prices were entirely reasonable, especially given the quality and freshness. We definitely got value for our money.

Given how many awful, facsimile Italian chains there are with kitchens pumping out offensive, frozen, and microwaved rubbish, Ciao Eatalia is a beacon in the dark; authentic, honest, heartfelt Italian food delivered by a passionate team.

Grazie mille, Ciao Eatalia. Grazie mille.

Update: Returned again and a perfect experience across the board. Our fifth time visiting and absolutely...

A little disappointed after expecting more. Menu prices are not overly expensive for today’s day and age. The bruschetta for starters was a little bland, the tomatoes could have been more vine ripened. The cheese on garlic bread was average. The cannelloni for the main was again ok, it was rather small and was a little runny with sauce and perhaps too much mozzarella. The most disappointing was the chicken and mushroom pasta main. The pasta was a little hard and undercooked. It was also clearly shop bought pasta tubes. Also hardly any chicken in the dish and a bland tasteless sauce. Tiramisu for desert was the best dish of the night. Appeared home made, not the best ever but not the worst. Also had the tubes with ricotta. You only get two but they were nice. Service was hit and miss. Waiters polite. One rather too keen, I had finished my starter but he took my wife’s plate while she still had food left and was about to eat it. Then a really long wait to receive the desert menu. Also took quite a long time for them to arrive. They do like squirty cream here. It’s on almost all the deserts. The mancuro beer on draught was not cold enough and the bar tender was seen spooning of the froth before filling again but stopping short of the top and a full pint. Looked like issues with the pump. Nice atmosphere inside and nice authentic restaurant but a little let down by the food, expected better and not one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to for food....

Dined in this restaurant over the weekend for a belated birthday celebration, felt incredibly uncomfortable with the service of our main server, felt he was very patronising and impatient. Three of us had the spaghetti carbonara which more like spaghetti in soup, one had lasagne and one had pizza, as well garlic bread and calamari rings. The calamari rings were very bland and look anemic. After this meal those of us who consumed the spaghetti carbonara (spaghetti soup) we ended up with violent food poisoning which left one bed ridden all week. The service was awful, not sure whether this was because we were a younger group of people (one child, 4 young adults) but we were out celebrating a belated family occasion which was instead ruined by the attitude of the server and the rushed feeling of the process. We all felt as if we were discriminated again due to our ages because we saw other tables with other guests be treated very differently. Will...

I recommend eating here! Following some good news we are at Ciao Eatalia to celebrate. It's a lovely restaurant with a real Italian feel. It felt like we were on holiday. The waiters are very friendly and the gluten-free & nut-free options are labelled on the menu (+ other allergens), which made it really easy to order quickly. The food is delicious and well presented, there's a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning again.

Ignore the decor and what seems like a strange building, good honest true Italian food at a reasonable price.far to often I think we forget how lovely Italian food can be, and it’s even better when it’s cooked and served for you with quality ingredients by friendly people. Veal Milanese is one of my favourite dishes so on this first of what will hopefully be many visits I had to have it and it didn’t disappoint.

Absolutely fantastic meal tonight. I had the veal with sage and cream sauce and couldn’t fault it. I never usually order veal but I was pleased that I did. My husband had the fillet steak with Gorgonzola and it was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked to go back next week. We even made sure to get a picture with the whole tea. As we were over the moon with the quality and the service.
