We were late for breakfast at another place in Langport and found this little gem of a place by accident, and we were delighted! We initially wanted to enjoy eating outside, which is harder to find that you'd expect 😅. This cafe is right at a garden centre so you're surrounded by fragrant blooms if you sit outside. It was so so lovely and peaceful. While the other place was noisy and busy, Corks was quiet, only a few other tables at 11:30am. We were greeted by two young gentlemens with a smile who provided excellent service (hubby and I both worked in 5* hospitality so we have experience! It doesn't take much but so many places miss the mark!) Coffee was delicious and the quiche was the best I probably ever had, so tasty and just the right texture. The only small criticism is for the bread in my hubby's bacon sandwich, we would have loved some crusty sourdough instead of the basic white or brown option. And before I forget we also met Hansel, the resident black butler kitty who was so cuddly he completely charmed us. He just sat in out laps purring the whole time! So this is your sign to visit Corks at Kelways, you won't be disappointed. There's also a tiny gift shop with handmade goods! You're welcome! 😉

My experience at Corks at Kelways in Langport left much to be desired. The cappuccino, unfortunately, was on the warm side and lacked the robust coffee flavor I was hoping for. Despite the absence of white bread, the substitution with brown bread was acceptable, but the inconsistency in bread freshness puzzled me. I received wholemeal that wasn't as fresh as my friend's delightful, freshly baked granary bread. The letdown persisted with slightly frozen and cold chips. It's disheartening to leave a negative review, especially when the place came recommended.

For the individual elements of our experience, of this 'cafe bistro' I would have given........ 5* for the pleasant setting 3* for the staff who served with a slight smile 5* for our cup of tea which was lovely. However the large cod & chips we ordered was not particularly good. The chips & peas were fine, but the piece of cod looked, tasted and was the exact size of a piece of cod you would get in a 'Youngs seafood' frozen range!! Which would be passable on a family tea time at home.....but not in a cafe/restaurant.......very disappointing.....

Just visited Corks at Kelways having been to the garden centre previously, but not eaten on that visit. Wow, what a lovely place! We both had the ploughman's which has to be the best we have ever had - from the fabulous home pickled vegetable selection, egg, home cured ham and hand made sausage roll, bread, coleslaw, tasty cheddar and brie every ingredient was top quality and beautifully presented on a large chopping board. The prices are very good value, staff really lovely and they clearly have a passion for providing a first class experience. We will definitely be back to visit this...
