Visited Saturday, when they were holding a Turkish themed barbecue.

Literally a caravan in a field, a bunch of mismatched tables and chairs, a few people barbecuing and some guy in a dress DJ'ing "alternative" music.

The people running the event seemed to have no idea what they were doing, and there was a huge amount of confusion on how or who to pay and how the orders were taken.

I ordered two mini chicken shawarma's and a bean stew - order number 03.

After 20 minutes, they called my number and attempted to give me two large lamb kebabs, and they were adamant I ordered that until I showed them the ticket stub with my order.

I waited almost an hour for my food, and when it was ready, I was served a small piece of chicken in a plain pitta. I asked if you help yourself to the buckets of salad or sauces on the table and was told as it was the "mini version" that it wasn't included.

I then waited another 20 minutes for the bean stew to be brought over from the caravan, which was served luke warm in a cardboard coffee cup.

Spent over £20 including the drinks, to get awful service and terrible food.

I liked the setup of the mismatched furniture and tables, as very hippy-esque but was very disappointed with the food...

I was early to meet my Pal here for lunch, and had a lovely chat with Ellie and her friend while I drank some tea and waited.

When my mate arrived we both ordered a jackfruit shawarma. It was windy, so we sat in the lee of the hedge , enjoyed watching a buzzard, and drank some more tea.

The food arrived in no time at all, in biodegradable takeaway packaging, and tasted delicious, a really good combination of not just flavours, but textures too.

We weren’t done catching up, so a fresh mint tea was ordered, along with a very generous and delicious slice of carrot cake, a bowl of water for the dog and some more laughs with the proprietors.

I bought a piece of torte to take home for my Lady, and when I got back regretted not buying 2!

Thanks Ellie for a...

Ellie's Soul Food Kitchen is truly unique. The food is creative and absolutely packed with flavour. It's clear that a great deal of love, and talent, goes into the food and overall concept. So far, we've had the mackeral pate, the jackfruit curry, the Morrocan chicken, the torte and the cheesecake. I cannot praise these dishes enough: absolute perfection. The service is also top notch. Ellie and Sam are welcoming and joyful. We can't wait to go again, sit above the sea, chat with friendly people, and eat delicious food. Go: it's good...

I'm sometimes sceptical when a place has such great reviews, can it be that good!! This time, it's a absolute yes. The food really is food for the soul. Locally sourced produce made from scratch, It's some of the tastiest food I've ever had. Owner run by Ellie and Sami, great service and atmosphere. 10 mins walk from Kynance Cove and right near the carpark. Had the Jackfruit shawarma, pulled lamb, pulled chicken and smoked herring pate. I highly recommend a visit. Also look out for their events, Hedluv N Passman were unbelievably good.

We came across this place while heading to Kynance Cove and walked back to have lunch (although you can drive and park there). It was amazing! We had the jackfruit and falafel salad boxes with a pitta on the side and they were absolutely delicious. A completely guilt free lunch that powered us through the afternoon. The service was super friendly and the setting very scenic and peaceful. I can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in the area!

Stopped by for a late lunch and had the Greek inspired lamb salad - oh my, it was delicious! We left feeling satiated without that fat/bloaty feeling, so you know it's good clean food! Service came with a smile and a bit of banter, and we were able to soak up the scenery and the wonderful sounds of nature whilst we had a short wait for the food. Delicious, healthy, and in a brilliant location. Would love to go back for a sunset supper!
