Staying at Brickfields Farm and decided to book an Evening Meal and Sunday lunch. WOW these meals did not disappoint. Our meals were served in a timely manner, cooked to perfection, hot, flavoursome and delicious. Deserts were amazing to. The Menu was varied and provided choices for every palette. The ambience of the Conservatory Restaurant was relaxed and well organised. All cutlery, crockery and glasses were clean and nicely shone. Table clothes and napkins were crisp, clean, white, linen. A bottle of chilled water was placed on the tables. An added bonus was the onsite bar to relax in and enjoy a drink prior to our meal. The Feather and Beak has an Outstandingly Talented Chef who takes a pride in his work. He speaks to all his guests either prior or at the end of their meal. A much appreciated and kind gesture. Ian and Karen the Owners and all the staff work extremely hard to ensure that this restaurant exceeds all expectations. Booking here you won't be...
Read moreFour of us went for dinner this evening. We didn't order a starter preferring a dessert. Three of us had Beef Wellington instead we got a flaky pastry pie with a piece of beef inside. The result was an overwhelming quantity of pastry. The potatoes were supposed to be Fondant potatoes but they were solid inside as opposed to the fluffy consistency required. The accompanying vegetables were seriously over salted Kale and a single stick of carrot per person. At £34.50 per portion it was a disgrace. My wife complained about her beef to the waitress but no one came to either apologise or discuss it. The net result was when we are asked if we would like the dessert menu we all declined this preferring to get the bill and leave. How it has a 4.9 rating is beyond belief particularly as we have been out eating excellent food around the area...
Read moreBrickfields farm have recently opened their restaurant for dinner. We were staying at Brickfields for a few days and invited family from the area over to try it out. The food was of very high quality and reasonably priced. It is only a small restaurant with limited opening hours so I would recommend booking in advance. Our party had Sirloin steaks, vegetable tagine and a banana filled chicken in mild coconut curry sauce. They were all met with delighted taste buds. The Vegetable tagine in particular resulted in calls to the chef for his recipe (Which still remains a guarded secret). We finished with chef’s sticky toffee pudding. What a winter warmer. All ingredients are sourced locally and example menus can be found on their website. A very nice addition to the local area and a real boon to guests at brickfields farm. We...
