Superb meal at the Finnygook Inn! Stayed in Torpoint for a family event, and with limited options in town (being polite...) we looked for a Gastropub close by to fill the void. Well worth the taxi ride (and the high rural fare 🙄), service was exemplary and the food quality first class. Scallops in the shell, fillet steaks and a whole lobster on the side. Washed down with a couple of pints and a nice bottle of red, we opted for an Irish coffee rather than a desert (one of the best I've had in a while). We thought it was reasonably priced for what we had (compared to Manchester), which offset the taxi fares...... Would have no hesitation in recommending 💯

Booked in at the restaurant for a birthday dinner. What a great place run by helpful and friendly staff. We arrived to find the restaurant busy and decided to wait at the bar for our table. The staff were extremely helpful and apologetic for the delay caused by a party that had arrived late and we're still enjoying their evening. As we were quite happy to wait the staff relaxed and made our short wait very pleasant. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty. The menu has a good selection of dishes to cater for all preferences. In all a fabulous evening and definitely a place we will be coming back to.

Our first visit since Covid and the rebuild following the fire, and we weren't disappointed. Wonderfully welcoming staff (some of whom were apparently local volunteers filling in staff shortages), very dog friendly (lots of conversations with fellow dog owners a nearby tables), really well cooked Sunday roast with many small portions of interesting vegetables. I had the supercharged version, with slices of pork, beef and lamb and accompaniments, on a huge plate, topped with a perfect Yorkshire pudding the size of a small moon. No room for anything else, so can't comment on the puddings.....

We're hiking the Coastal Path and stayed at the Finnygook Inn near Portwrinkle. The Inn is about a mile from the Path and worth the trek. The rooms were well done with a comfortable bed, linens, towels and a great bathroom. The view from the room was lovely - looking toward Plymouth. The rooms were incredibly quiet and we had a good night's sleep. The coffee maker should be replaced with an electric kettle - it was a non-functioning piece of clap trap. The pub was great with happy locals and dogs alike. We had a really good dinner including chicken liver pate, langostino and prawn cocktail, a wonderful fish of the day special on a bed of crab risotto and a curry dish. Everything was very nice and we enjoyed ourselves a great deal - and maybe even a bit too much! If our travels take us to the area again, we'll certainly stay, eat, drink and be...

We called in by chance the staff are very Friendly and helpful and it appeared they were volunteers from the local area to keep the pub open which is very commendable. The pub is a good place to have a drink with a large bar and plenty of places to sit.

The food however is average, we tried the fish Goujons and Beer battered fish and a roast chicken dinner, the Goujons were overcooked and rock hard, the fish was nice but the mushy peas were very salty for our tastes. The worse dish was, the roast dinner the meat was over cooked almost hard on the outside and the roast potatoes were almost inedible due to the outer being so hard the knife would not cut through. I did also notice other plates going back with the potatoes going back hollowed out.

It was £66 with drinks so price is not expensive if they got the food right. I Wish I could give it...

Paid £7 for a sausage and onion sandwich expecting something special for that price! Not disappointed , it was special in the fact that they used a disgusting meat that looked nothing like a sausage, cheap was an understatement! I was also overcharged for what I bought. The chips were already covered in salt( whether you wanted it or not! My wife had a cheese and pickle sandwich as they had no tuna ,this was £6.00 and was disgusting too! There was nothing special about these sandwiches and how they justify the price is astonishing! I was thinking of making a booking to take 16 family members for a meal( with some staying over at the pub) this will not be happening now! I have told my friends toavoid. Also check your bill, they overcharged...
