The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was very thin and soft meaning as soon as sat on it you could feel the springs, and the bed base, meaning sleep was not pleasant and struggled to sleep. ||Additionally the bed creaked tremendously meaning every time you moved in bed there was a loud creak again waking you up. ||The pillows are extremely thin and both my wife and myself had to fold them in half meaning they were then uncomfortable to sleep on. ||The shower was damaged (missing some shower head nozzles) meaning the jet just sprayed out. ||There was a lot of noise pollution from the restaurant underneath us from 9pm to 10pm, and again from 7am until we left for the day. ||The breakfast was disappointing! It’s certainly not a full English as advertised. |- No beans |- No hash brown|- No black pudding ||Sausages weren’t great, bacon was undercooked & toast was cold. ||The staff albeit friendly, shouldn’t over share. One complained to us about having to work late when they were looking forward to finishing to have a bottle of wine. The same employee , pulled a face when I asked if I can have scramble egg on my full English, and said “I’ll see what the chef says”. ||Pros:|- view is lovely overlooking the scenic countryside. ||- restaurant food is nice , but again slightly expensive. ||- lovely pub and dog friendly. ||For the price you pay for this venue I’d certainly say avoid for accommodation and visit the premier inn just down the road for the same price and a better night sleep. ||I’d return to visit the pub though (if was in passing /...

If you want to get away from it n all, come here It's in such beautiful surroundings and only a short drive to the village of richmond Rooms are lovely Free standing bath Great size beds for me and the fella and a good single for our 16 year old Arrived Christmas Eve and where I made 2 feel really welcome We had lovely food and lots to drink to celebrate Christmas and ended the evening with a quiz. It was lots of fun, with Christmas dinner booked for the next day For around 14.30. It was lovely, nice prosecco for dinner, and lovely to be able to lounge and kick back in the bar, later on, and chat to the other guests The owner is chatty, and the lady who also works the bar is just great, nice, and down to earth people. Bar is stocked well And the place is spotless There are beautiful views and walks to clear heads boxing day. But my only complaint is the bar should have been open for guests boxing evening and it was closed, which let us all down, as we had been out all day, But not ready for bed. Wifi and TV service and T and coffee in the room, so we did that instead Besides that it was a really nice experience for us as a family. We would definitely visit again Even if we were passing through. Its well worth staying here And should be...

We stopped here for dinner while travelling. The pub is nicely decorated and the food is very delicious. We had a house special “grilled sea bream” and a “chicken schnitzel” which were all nicely cooked and tasty. The side salad was good too. I gave it 4 stars just because of one small thing. They tended to drop the plates on the table instead of placing them gently, so some of our food actually dropped out off the plate.

Stopped here on a Sunday on the way home and was blown away with the Sunday roast! We got the half chicken roast and it was absolutely perfect, crispy skin, tender meat and the veggies were amazing too. All of it was perfect and it's so cheap for the quality that you get, most of the roast meals are roughly ÂŁ15, if I didn't live 3 hours away I'd be here every weekend. Best roast I've had in a restaurant!
