Gretna Bakery — Restaurant in England

I WAS DOWN JUST OUTSIDE CARLISLE. IN WEE TOWN CALLED LONGTOWN ON BUISNESS. WAS FEELING REAL PECKISH. SO I ASKED WORKERS IN THE PLACE IF THERE WAS ANY PLACE FOR SOMETHING TO EAT. THEY RECOMMENDED A WEE BAKERY CAFE CALLED. " THE GRETNA BAKERY" ON A7 BETWEEN LONGTOWN AND GRETNA. FIRST CLASS. EXCELLENT FOOD. MASSIVE PORTIONS. PLACE IS VERY CLEAN. STAFF HELPFUL. AND VERY REASONABLE PRICES. ALSO HAS BAKERY SHOP. WHICH HAS WON GOLD AWARDS FOR SHOP FOODS. JUMPED BACK IN CAR. MINUTES LATER I WAS BACK IN GRETNA. AND ON MOTORWAY HEADING HOME. IN MY LINE OF WORK I VISIT MANY EATERIES. BUT THIS WEE PLACE SITS HIGH ON MY LIST. WELL WORTH A VISIT IF YOU'RE IN THE AREA. SIT IN IS SMALL. BUT WE GOT TABLE NO PROBLEM AS DID OTHERS WHO CAME IN AFTER. I VISITED APPROX 11.30AM. AND THERE IS PLENTY FREE PARKING...

After driving nearly 200 miles I went in to the cafe to use the toilet and purchase some more snacks for the next 100 miles of my journey. I was greeted by a very rude member of staff (who acted like to it even too much trouble to look up from moping the floor to make eye contact with me) who told me I couldn’t use the toilet as it was only for customers so I explained that I was also wanting to purchase food and her response was “the toilets are only for sit in customers” absolutely ridiculous, horrendous customer service and a stupid reason to turn away paying customers. Looking at previous reviews I am not the only one to have experienced...

Just called into the bakery to buy lunch for three people. Asked to use the toilet and we were told no. Only available for customers of the café! We had already spent £7.25 we were about to buy cakes too. Needless to say we didn’t. The lady serving said it was the managers decision. In all honesty we did not walk in off the street just to use the toilet. Bad decision and no flexibility showed. I cannot recommend anybody go to this place to buy anything from the bakery if you would like to...
