Family day out
Went to this (cafe) sub standard hospital type yesterday, and I MTB here most weekends so we took kids for the day out, why we never took a packed lunch, but you learn by your mistakes. as for MTB now I know why we never went in...
Very friendly atmosphere hence the 1star, but the food was very basic and very over priced...
Our order was, beans on toast for one child, ham sandwich for the other. my wife had a tuna melt and a cheese burger for me. The order arrived, the beans on toast, ‘wow’. half a spoon of beans and one slices of toast. The ham sandwich was the smallest bun I have ever seen. My six yr old son had two bites and it was gone, the tuna melt was all burnt like it had been reheated, and my burger was rock hard, and I mean rock hard one bite was enough. Oh and two cappuccino, well boiling hot coffee’s with a bit cream on top and a receipt that was about to cost a small fortune. Then to top the lot it costs you £6.50 parking all day, for what, for nothing so we gave someone @ the parking machine our all day parking ticket on the way out...
Enjoyed our day and the parks and trails were amazing had great fun... but def take your own food and you won’t be...
Read moreWe were refused food when we told them our daughter had an allergy. Non of the signs in the cafe said anything other than to let them know if you had an allergy. Had any of the signs indicated they would not provide food to people that had an allergy we would not have even bothered. They did not seem to recognise that nearly every food they serve is an allergen to someone. Very poor attitude from the lady that dealt with us , rolling her eyes and laughing as we complained. Bad experience to what started as a wonderful day. Take a packed lunch. From what I've heard the food is not all that good anyway. They say that there will be bigger facilities at some point in the future where they can cater better for allergy sufferers. I won't hold my breath. It does have wheelchair access but you won't be able to get by the tables and chairs which crowd the areas. You'll...
Read moreWonder from the main path into the woodland and you can experience the beauty of the Forest. Remove your shoes and allow your bare feet to connect with the Earth. Connect to the mycorrhizal network. The sacred connection beneath your feet that we’ve been so long disconnected from. Enjoy the silence, peaceful bliss and feel the 21st century syndrome float away. It’s such a shame these sacred forests are so sparse. Once, enormous areas of this land were vast forests where our ancestors lived in small communities at one with nature and the old ways. I highly recommend you spend more time in the forest and read about the benefits to yourself, physically, mentally and...
