Really poor experience. Went as a group of 6, took a little while to get our orders taken and starters to come out, but not too awful. However our mains quickly came out, but noone bothered to clear the dishes from our starters, even though they were walking away empty handed. 5 of us ordered combos which should come with seasoned chips, but they all came plain so we had to point out ourselves about this error. They also brought an extra portion of chips out that we didnt ask for, but didnt bring the onion rings we did ask for 🤦🏻♀️ the rotisserie chicken on the combos was disgusting, overcooked and dry, the skin was black and the top layer of meat was brown and leathery. I tried saving it with some bbq sauce, but then I almost choked on a piece as it was so dry going down so left it at that. The ribs that came with it (half a rack apparently?!) was small and cold. Noone finished their chicken so I pointed out the problem when the waiter came back to collect our plates. He said he would speak to someone to see what they could do. He took 2 plates, came back took 2 more, came back took 2 more, came back took the starter dishes (FINALLY), asked if we wanted anything else (we had considered desert originally but was too put off after the mains so declined) he finally came back and offered 20% off the mains! Meaning I would've still paid £12 for a tiny portion of ribs and a few chips, sorry but not good enough, the majority of my dinner was poor 20% doesn't represent what I was unable to eat. Another fairly long wait and he says they will take all the meals with chicken on off the bill, which was better than we expected after the initial offer so fair play, but cant help but think they lost a lot of money just because they cant cook a chicken. Maybe take some tips from the chicken counter at Tesco? We genuinely all went in to have 3 courses, order what we fancy and spend whatever, but we left paying only for starters and drinks, and with a really bad experience that's really put us off, wether the meal was free or not. Oh and not forgetting they tried charging us for the chips they brought out that we didnt ask for! 🤦🏻♀️ itll be a long time til I give Harvester a...
Read moreParty of six dining weekend at 12 for lunch. 5 adults 1 child. Greeted at the door in a friendly manner and shown to our table which we had pre booked. Nice and spacious, and had lots of room. Very quickly we were offered drinks which is excellent as most places can take a while and take both food and drinks orders at the same time. Was nice to look through the menu whilst having a drink. We ordered our food and headed for the salad bar. Unfortunately, someone had forgotten to put the butter out for the rolls, so we had to find someone to get butter. Salad bar area, however, was clean and well presented, and all the food looked fresh. When our mains arrived, they were of good portion sizes. Chips didn't have a normal fresh look, and my peppercorn sauce had split and went cold very quickly. Rump on both our meals was a bit tough, but to be honest, Rump is hit and miss in all venues. The chicken was amazing, succulent with lots of flavour. The vegetarian options were great, and the 2 dishes that came out looked amazing apart from the chips. We ordered desserts as it was mine and mum's birthday that we kept quiet. Wasn't till I got home that I realised that my crushed oreos were missing. Bit disappointed, but to be fair, the dessert was banging and generous portions, so have a break before ordering to fully enjoy. Had a nice expresso to follow and chilled whilst my bro and dad left for the Rugby. Go, Saints.... Charlie was our main server, who got a bit tongue tied at one point but was great and very polite. Check back was a bit on the slow side, hence why I didn't complain about the sauce, etc. Would I go back here again. YES... probably order chicken dishes or vegi next time as they looked the best options, and next time I get a dessert, check the spec. Shame a couple of things lost them a star, but all in all, a good place to take the family for...
Read moreStrike another place to eat off of our list to eat out at. Went here with 6 people on the 26th Jan at 8pm, 4 teenage boys and 2 adults. Dropped the boys off, got them seated and then went and picked my wife up, came back parked in a disable bay WITH a blue badge. We ordered our food, which was all fine, arrived without issue as it has done in the past. When we'd finished, we sat around for 20 / 30 minutes and had to ask TWICE for the bill. Normally I wouldn't bother with a review like this, stuff happens at busy times and I understand that and normally we've not had an issue (it has been many months since our last visit though) - but the today I get a letter for an £85 parking fine as I wasn't authorised to park here! Apparently there's signage warning you, it's not very clear because I could see it at night. No one told us about when we were seated, or when we paid the bill. So I went down and took a photo - they're all quite high up and look like the normal - always park in bays, owner won't take responsibility for damage etc. In the dark, on a cold night when you just want to get in, not so sure, and that's why I missed them. I still don't know why the staff didn't say anything when we were seated? Shouldn't that be part of the meet & greet? Or when we asked for bill, why didn't they say then - were they annoyed that we were annoyed that we had to ask for the bill twice? Our bill for the meal was over £100 - now another £85. I guess we'll not be back. The boys wanted to go to TGI's at sixfields but I said the Harvester would be better, maybe next time I should...
