Hidden River Cafe — Restaurant in England

Firstly, if I could score a zero score I would . So we were staying local at this cafe had been highly recommend. Unfortunately for us what an awful experience basically ruined my weekend away . So we came here on Friday 15th for breakfast . (Full English was good nothing wrong with it ) then we have pancakes and we find porcelain in our pancakes which was of a size to have cut our throats if swallowed. To which we left and cancelled our dinner reservations for the following day . I then received a phone call from Tom a manager to offer his sincere apologies to be then asked to come back still and dinner was on them . I was very hesitant to this and my partner said to give you another chance to which I wasn’t open on . So we came last night ( our last night of our holiday ) to walk away crying . My food came out and the rice was of a texture of rice pudding . Lamb that was meant to be Mizo glaze and it was not . Then the long stem broccoli tempura is supposed to have a crunch this did not either taste at all like it was supposed to . Was full of oil and grease . On top of this I would of expected exceptional service and to be highly looked after which we were not . Considering what happened . So not only did you ruin my holiday and our birthday celebrations but you’ve lost a potential wedding customer now as well . I would have thought someone in management would have reached out to us today so I have purposely left doing a review straight away but I’m shocked at how you’ve got such reviews after this awful experience . When you first come to this restaurant, you will be attracted by the view outside its window. When you enter, there are three waitresses at the front counter. After we are seated smoothly, one of them quickly takes our drink order. Ours After the drinks were served, there was an endless wait. I don’t know why no one remembered to bring us the menu. The end we had to go to the front counter to ask for tonight’s menu. I ordered duck legs. To be honest, I was very disappointed. The duck meat It tasted very dry, the chef overcooked the duck leg which caused all the juice inside to evaporate and I had to rely on the sauce from the beans to eat it, they don't seem to have a set menu so there are very few options to order if you don't Willing to waste your time to come to this restaurant and not have the food you like, I suggest you call first to confirm their menu, maybe I will give them another chance, but in my personal experience this duck dish is a huge improvement space, unless you like your...

Amazing staff, incredible food, most relaxing atmosphere. 10/10

We attended here 19/06/2022 for my Baby Shower, this had been postponed from 05/06/2022 due to an unexpexted hospital visit and they could not have accommodated us more. Our server, Kasia, was nothing short of delightful. She was attentive without being over the top and we didn't want for a thing. The food. Oh my gosh the food! It was DIVINE! Most of our party opted for the 2 course option, and we were not disappointed. Huge portions, and each part of the meal expertly cooked. We didn't even have space for my Baby Shower cheesecake and had to take it away with us!! We were seated upstairs in the barn, with incredible views and the most relaxing atmosphere, every member of our party commented on what a huge success it was in choosing this place.
