Holly Cottage Farm — Restaurant in England

Myself and my wife only visited today (18/02/25) and I am so glad we did! Petra the host and owner was lovely, calming and chatty. It felt like we’d popped to a friends house for a chat. The place may be small but has bags of character, and a serves the community wonderfully it seems. The interior is a mish mash of pottery and and nick knacks as well as some local crafts for sale (outside they also had bird boxes and plants for sale - Petra’s partner, she informed us, is a landscape gardener) We are not from the area and were staying at the nearby Aldwark Manor and wanted to pop out for some snacks for our hotel room and have lunch whilst out. We took a punt at this quaint coffee room and we were not disappointed. Food options are basic but I like that. We went for toasties and a pot of tea (we also left with a couple of slices of homemade Bakewell tart! Shh! ;) ) we also left warmer, fuller and happier than we arrived. You can keep your Costa’s, and Starbucks! - try local and support wonderful small businesses such as this. I would highly recommended Holly Cottage Farm to anyone who is needing a catering service. I required sandwich/wrap platters for a group of about 20 for a baby shower. Petra advised me throughout and definitely exceeded my expectations! Petra delivered beautifully prepared and presented sandwiches, mini wraps, sausage rolls and quiches- all home made and were delicious! We had many compliments from guests! Fabulous little gem of a place. Friendly staff serving up delicious and good quality food - go on a Saturday morning for a cooked breakfast and you'll be set up for the day. If you miss breakfast time, then the toasties are fab, as are the sausage rolls. If you're fancying something sweeter, then the cakes are a slice of heaven. Cake to go is possible if you are just too full after your first course.
