The sandwiches may be stuck in the 80s but when you're looking for somewhere to stop during your walk you could do a lot worse. The service is friendly and quick, and there's a good selection of drinks, sandwich fillings and desserts. I wouldn't go too far out of my way, but since it's on a popular walking route and near a ferry landing, I wouldn't say no to stopping here again.

This little friendly cafe is superb Its already in an amazing location and the food on offer is also well presented and wholesome. But without doubt the Cafes stand out bonus is the friendly hardworking staff - well done everyone. Another huge bonus for us is that they are very dog friendly.

Lovely tea rooms, I have been a few times now, and the staff are always friendly and happy to chat-on. Good selection of cakes and food with pipping hot Cappuccino. Definitely worth a visit if you get the chance.

On arrival felt very uncomfortable like we were in their way. No atmosphere. Ordered sandwiches to take away due to not feeling welcome then watched the lady behind the counter digging sweetcorn out of a tin with her fingers and putting it into our sandwiches (wish I had the courage to say something at the time but felt so awkward and had already paid - disappointed with myself 😔) really poor hygiene please use gloves or a spoon like anyone would! Asked if I could borrow the tray to carry the food to the car and was asked “where’s it going” and “as long as it comes back”! I have no use for a tray honestly. Sausage rolls were full of gristle. Sandwiches very very basic. The Views and carrot cake gain 1 star! Unfortunately my first poor review but we need to be honest and if I can save someone another experience like ours then it’s worthwhile. Major room for improvement....

Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience here. First off the lemonade I asked for wasn't stored in a fridge nor was it fresh so it was flat and warm. The second issue was with service, the person who served my husband was rude and ripped my husband off. Our coffee and lemonade came to £5.20 and my husband gave her a £10 note then she asked for the 20p which he didn't have so he gave her a 50p then she said due to you not having the correct change I'm not giving you yours and never gave him his change back so we lost out on £5.30 My husband didn't tell me till later on in the day otherwise I would have challenged her as he said she had £5 notes...

We had walked from glenridding to Howtown and planned to get the water ferry back, but they had all been cancelled due to bad weather so we were stranded with no signal in awful weather conditions. We walked up to the tearooms which was closed but found a lovely lady called Diane who let us shelter in the closed tea rooms while she arranged a taxi for us and provided us with refreshments while we waited, staying later than she should of! We cannot thank her enough for her kindness and generosity in such a stressful time! Thank...
