Inn on the Green — Restaurant in England

Today was the second time we have been it since the refurb. Looks very clean and tidy. The pub was very busy with good atmosphere. Slightly disappointed with our meals. We had Scampi and chips, it came with side salad and peas. The one plate of food was cooked perfectly, the other wasn't and smaller amonut. Small hard chips and Scampi and a piece of black cotton about 10cm long was found within the chips. Staff were too busy for us to catch them to point it out and when the plates were collected, staff member ignored us. This was very disappointing considering our first visit when it wasn't so busy, the staff asked more than twice if our meals were OK and that time they were perfectly cooked and a good plate full. We had our golfing group Christmas dinner at the Inn on the Green today. The food was delicious, the staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. They couldn’t have looked after us any better. All our group thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and would strongly recommend the venue to any clubs or groups considering holding their Christmas or New Year function. When we arrived, it seemed that all the tables were reserved. However, when we asked if there was a table free, we were accommodated straight away as one of the tables was reserved for a later time. We ordered cod and chips and drinks. The service was prompt, and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend the chips, possibly the best I've tasted, crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle.
