My partner and I came to this pub for food a couple days ago. The staff and the locals were so friendly and welcoming. Between us we have a few dietary restrictions and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The place was clean and tidy, the tables were not sticky (a rare find in Cornwall !) and they welcomed dogs. My partner ordered a vegetable curry and an extra side of chips for dipping. The curry wasn’t saucy at all for dipping but the chips were amazing. I ordered the fish cakes on the specials board after a regular customer recommended them. They were really very good but unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy them so much as they had lots of cheese inside and I am dairy intolerant… it was my own fault for not asking but would have been nice if this was mentioned in a description. All in all would highly recommend and will be coming back to try some more. Thanks guys!!

Very testy and friendly pub. The food was very delicious and so big I could berly finish it. Dog friendly, which is even better when you are looking for places to eat. Usually the dog friendly are very average but this place is dog friendly and delicious. We had hawaian pizza, hallumi fries, fries with pull pork and fries with chilli beef. All taste so delicious. The staff are so friendly for adults and children and even this is a pub you could feel the homy atmosphere of small town. Highly recommend 👌

Best meal out I’ve had since I can remember, COVID safe and socially distanced, with staff wearing masks even though the restrictions have been eased. Homemade pie was excellent, turkey and leak (there was so much meat in it), was full really but just managed to squeeze in the Jaffa cake cheesecake wow, it was worth it. Don’t need to eat for a week now. Staff also really friendly, highly recommend.

The food was very good BUT their organisation and in-house communication was woefully inadequate. I made an enquiry by phone initially and then by personal visit, well in advance, to book this as a lunch venue for my group of walkers. I was provided with a specially printed menu so that I could list all the meals required on the day, to hand in when we arrived to help the kitchen/bar staff cope with a potential 20/25 customers arriving within minutes of each other, so only drink orders would need to be placed. Due to the location of the start of the walk in the Luxulyan Valley no mobile signal was available to phone in the orders - this had been discussed beforehand and was not thought to be a problem! We arrived at the expected time to find only one person tending the bar who informed me that not everything that was on the agreed menu was available 'as we don't stock all that all the time' and that everyone would have to queue to re-order. Obviously the person with whom I had made the arrangements had not had the authority to have made the booking and had not communicated any of the details to those who would have been on duty on the day! My efforts to explain how I had booked etc went totally unrecognised. 5 walkers decided that the pub did not deserve their custom and left, the remaining 18 or so made the best of a bad job and stayed, as they were hungry. Extra staff were called in and food, of good quality, eventually arrived. When customers make a concerted effort to make clear arrangements, when booking a venue, it is extremely frustrating and disappointing when that is not...

We were stopping in a lovely cottage close by over the Christmas period and popped in firstly for their amazing breakfast, they were super friendly and the breakfast was amazing!!

Our second visit was for dinner or tea depending on where you come from New Years eve, I had the chicken burger and fries, my husband had the loaded fries off the specials menu and my daughter had the filled yorkshire pudding, again the food was outstanding, we also couldn't resist a pudding, sticky toffee x 1 and ginger pudding all with custard again the food was amazing, good job we walked their and exercised it off.

Our third visit again was for dinner pizza and some chips which were homemade and so tasty followed by some waffles for pudding.

The staff are all so friendly and the atmosphere was lovely, wish we lived closer to have...
