Really glad Knightley has re-opened, Jacqui is doing a fantastic job with food, drinks and events. Oktoberfest a go go!! Update: New opening hours and lunch time menu is possibly what I needed to know for Mondays when I'm WFH. Note, Fish finger sarnie and chunky chips really hits the spot. Update: Sunday roasts have been absolutely immense since they launched. The trio of meats is always the one. 8/6/2025

We moored on the canal and popped down to the pub on the Saturday for a drink. It was so welcoming and we were told about the Sunday dinners. We looked at the menu and decided to book. It also coincided with the England Rugby which was great. We felt extremely welcomed and had an excellent Sunday dinner. We can highly recommend this pub it’s definitely the heart of the village. We will be back.

A wonderful Sunday lunch and a great place to break up the road trip. Currently being renovated but don't be put off by the exterior. Only point of note is that the bathrooms are in real need of TLC as they could put some customers off. The owner / landlady is very pleasant and could not do enough to make you enjoy your dining experience.

This is an awesome little pub. Loved it so much we were quite happy to walk the 30 mins along the towpath from where we were moored multiple times just for a quick pint. The moment we first walked in we were greeted with a warm and friendly, hello, welcome, nice to meet you, and that warm was extended every visit. The folks have not long taken over this pub and are doing a good job of it. Nice pint at a very reasonable price, cheapest I've paid for a long time. They offer stone baked pizza or fish and chips for a tenner. We booked a fish and chips for 3, for 7.30 on Friday. We arrived on time and it was there, hot, fresh and boxed up ready to go, with sauces etc included. We had the option to eat in if we wished, which we did. It was delicious. Gave 4 stars simply because of the lack of choice on the menu, however, as hubby rarely gives even 3 stars to most places, this is a really good rating from him. I can't wait to see how well they've done when we come back this way next year on...

Didn’t start well as our reserved table was occupied . Restricted menu had cottage pie, liver and onions and beef lasagna however hopes were dashed when we were told that the cottage pie, liver and onions and beef lasagna were off leaving vegetable curry or a three bean chilli. Undaunted we ordered sandwiches and chips (after making sure that the chips were available) which we agreed were acceptable and a pint of Phipps bitter which was on form however the second pint was served down the back of my chair by a clumsy barman. Needless to say we will not...

I came to eat here with my wife and autistic son and the food was disgusting, it was served cold and very wet, somehow the pizza was burnt and soggy at the same time, the atmosphere was incredibly loud for a pub and it was like they didn't care how unruly and feral the other drunk customers were acting. This caused my son to become overstimulated, when I complained the wait staff did nothing about this they were incredibly rude I wouldn't recommend this establishment to eat at or even walk nearby, disgrace to...
