Feb. 2022. This now well established and popular venue, continues to produce provender of the highest quality. I have been attending the establishment for many years now and it remains one of my favourite restaurants. This night the lamb shank - Agnello Brasato - was a melt in the mouth shoulder of lamb on a generous bed of mash pototo, brocoli and 'heritage' carrots.

The cheesecake - Torta di Formagi - came with a topping of tart blackberries, a good foil to the cheese. And of course, the Sanglovese Rubicone, to wash it all down with. Probably the most agreeable 'house red' in any Italian restaurant.

December '21 The panic (of them leaving) is over, but the pandemic remains. The spaghetti bolognese, mixed up like it should be, is beyond reproach and the Fragola e Lampone dessert, comes out better with every presentation.

GOOD NEWS - BAD NEWS. Aug 2019 Having eaten here often and always finding both the service and the food up to expectation, both waifu and I agreed to visit this establishment for our (whatever-it-was) 'th anniversary.

Booking in advance and mentioning the occasion, the staff had placed roses on our table and we were treated to a complimentary aperitif.

The food (taken from the lunch menu) met expectations as did the house red, a modest but pleasing Sangiovese Rubicone 2018, which washed down the meal very well.

The day was cold, but the sun shone through the windows, the staff were attentive and amiable and all made the lunch experience most agreeable.

That's the GOOD news.

The BAD news, is they are leaving.

Avaricious land-lords demands have induced a going concern to take their business elsewhere.

So, dear reader, if you wish to experience this excellent establishment or wish to do so again, get a wiggle on - they will be gone beginning in July. Moving to Winford apparently - but more...

Came here tonight (12/09/2019) with my partner for a date night that has been long overdue. I can honestly say that this night has been amazing due to wonderful food and a lovely atmosphere - it has such a warming feel to the place and the staff are so warm, friendly and welcoming.

The food was absolutely amazing and so flavoursome; best steak I’ve had in a long time and my partner absolutely loved the Sea bass he had. We couldn’t fault the food at all, it was perfectly cooked and had so much flavour that every bite was fantastic. The desserts were light and fluffy and they definitely went down a treat.

The restaurant itself has such a warming feel to it as it’s really atmospheric and the whole place just feels homely. The lights are perfect in the evening and the decor really brings the place to life. Such a warming restaurant to be in and couldn’t help but feel happy and relaxed here.

Definitely coming back here again, we’re already planning on coming here in December with the family for my Birthday! I would 100% recommend this place to families, couples or even just friends wanting a nice place to catch up over some food - it’s got a really wonderful atmosphere and the lighting really sets the tone for the place.

Such a lovely place and I couldn’t recommend it enough, words can’t even explain fully how beautiful this place is for a meal in the evening. Go here for yourself and experience it, you won’t...

We visited here for a family meal, after hearing so many good things about it and driving past so often it was great to finally eat here.

It's quite a small restaurant - but it has a great, pretty authentic atmosphere with some great choices on the menu.

The service was friendly and quick and they even gave the children some pencils and paper to colour in.

The food came quickly and was all very tasty - everyone in our party was happy with their food. The only complaints about the food is that the children's food we ordered didn't come with any 'healthly stuff'. My son ordered Pizza, and although it was a good pizza (he raved about it!) - it was pretty big for a kids size and didn't come with anything else. As a parent I would much have preferred a slightly smaller pizza with a side of salad (or at least the option to have that).

All the adult food including the desserts was presented well, tasted great and the portion sizes were good.

All in all we had a great meal and would recommend to our friends.

Why didn't I give 5 stars? The only real negative feedback I have is that the smoking area is right next to the entrance so, you have to walk through smoke to get in which isn't that pleasant if there are people outside smoking and every time anyone went outside to smoke the smell drifted into the restaurant and was strong enough to...

My wife booked a table for our family for Fathers Day, as been coming here for a few years, despite the abrupt female who runs front of house, and the food is usually excellent, but sadly today I was served a dish with a completely black vegetable of some description. Had it not been hidden under the mash, I wouldve sent it straight back. My daughter also pulled a hair out of her ice cream. Won't be returning, as apart from rude front of house female, we weren't asked how our meals were, the plates were just cleared and when I pointed out the black item on my plate, I said I dont what that is, but it shouldn't have been served and the waitress said, I have no idea what it is either! No apology - needless to say, we won't be returning.
