We have had great restaurant food here when we have Visited before , we’ve had a take away for the first time this evening, it was really underwhelming, we shan’t bother again . The pizza we ordered we couldn’t have as they didn’t have the Toppings , so after them Calling us back after we had ordered to tell us this , we changed to another pizza , it was barley warm and was missing two toppings , we called to complain , that was refunded which was a nice gesture. After sorting that we started to eat , firstly My pasta was bland, no seasoning, it was tasteless and drowned in oil, it wasn’t nice at all, very greasy ! The antipasti was basically a box full of rocket, some meat not a great amount , 3 capers , 4 olives and the cheese was cut far far to thick , making it super dry and inedible, the salad was overwhelmed with balsamic glaze. Lastly the desserts were the icing on the cake ! The tiramisu was melted , a blob of coffee soaked sponge and runny cream , the apple and raspberry crumble was over cooked burnt on the bottom and had no cream , when they make a point of saying we have no small pots so we’ll pour it on the top ! All in all a waste of money and has put us off going back to dine in ! I tried to call again to complain, no answer...
Read moreWe went to Upton Scudamore last night without reservations. We were unable to get into the main restaurant room, which suited us down to the ground, but were immediately seated almost next to the bar where it was really nice and quiet. The ambiance was lovely, the food came quickly and was cooked with love and care and was absolutely delicious with generous helpings. We had three courses plus a floater coffee and everything was of the same high standard. The staff were amazing, never letting us wait for drink top ups, and they had such energy it made me tired just watching them. They couldn’t have been more friendly and you felt like they were friends rather than waiters and waitresses. Prices were in line with other restaurants. I could not praise this restaurant more if I tried. Fantastic you must go and be delighted for yourself! We will definitely go there again and again, We most certainly would recommend this...
Read moreWell this was a pleasant surprise. We had been to Avebury and were looking for lunch but both nearby pubs were completely full and turned us away. We drove back towards Warminster and there were two pubs on the roadside that were closed. By this time it was nearly 3PM and we had given up but spotted a sign on the main road for the Angel Inn. We turned off and found the Angel but it turned out to be an Italian restaurant. Went in and enquired if they could serve us some lunch. We were not hopeful having been turned away in Avebury. But the man in charge couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. We ordered 2 "starters" that were the size of main courses. They were both excellent. In the end I wish we had gone there first and I look forward to visiting again for a full evening meal because the menu...
