I came here for a meal out with my wife, brother and his girlfriend. We didn't book but just kind of found it nearby our campsite and thought we'd go out for dinner. We arrived, parked and headed in. It was fairly busy. We asked for a table and we're seated. Wooden chairs, clean table, carpet, windows, a big TV. They swiftly brought us menus, we ordered drinks, they brought the drinks. I had a tribute and it was fantastic. So far, so good. They took our food orders. It came quite fast. It was all pretty nice. The lasagne had very little meat in but tasted good. The katsu curry was very spicy but the menu didn't warn that would be the case. But it was all enjoyable enough. Then it all went a bit downhill. There was clearly a quiz starting soon. We aren't locals, and perhaps it's wrong to judge a pub on one occasion, but this was our only occasion so how else can we judge it? When we arrived and asked for a table there was no mention of a quiz. The place quickly became packed and rowdy. We couldn't hear ourselves talking. The staff didn't come back to take a pudding order. They just totally forgotten t about us. After maybe 45 minutes I went went to ask for someone to take our pudding orders. Someone came but didn't know what the cheesecake of the day was. My sister in law ordered it on chance as they clearly weren't going to go and find out. Turns out it was a Toffee flavour. She hated it. My pudding was excellent (the brownie). My wife ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard. It came with ice cream instead. So it started well but they became uninterested in us when the quiz was starting. We quickly paid up and left. Nobody came to ask how our puddings we're or showed any interest in the fact that it wasn't all eaten. Maybe another night would have been a much better experience. Overall I've still given 4 stars as it was pretty good.

Ryan is a legend at the Lanivet Inn which is a traditional Cornish village pub situated in Lanivet, near Bodmin, Cornwall. Managed by Rob and Nat Liddicoat since 2015, it offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors. Food & Drink The inn prides itself on serving high-quality, locally sourced, seasonal produce at reasonable prices. Their menu features a variety of dishes, including options for vegetarians and vegans. They also offer daily specials. The bar serves award-winning local beers, including Proper Job, Tribute, and HSD, along with a rotating guest ale. We love Lanivet Inn. I lived in the Village about 25 years ago and it has changed so much.If you come off the Bodmin bypass Lanivet sits just below on the old road. We didn't book and that wasn't a problem. We sat in the main bar but would advise to ask if you can be seated in the dining rooms further down if you want a quiet meal but if like us you prefer to watch sport(football in our case) it's great. Being a Sunday we ordered roast lunch. My husband had the large which was enormous with a mix of Beef,Pork & Turkey.Dishes of fresh veg which was really generous helpings. My small roast was a one choice of Roast Pork with the most perfect crackling. Prices for this were really good. Outside at the pub is a front area facing the road with plenty of tables and at the rear there is a fantastic gazebo/marquee and a covered garden seating. Good parking but if it was full just a minutes walk is a public car park.

Such a shame. We understand that its mother day however, table booked for 6pm. We arrived on time and the pub is packed watching football/rugby with people shouting at the TV. Our table isn't ready so we offer to stay outside and out the way till the table is ready. At half past we are finally seated. Missing cutlery, handed 2 menus for 5 adults and no kids menu for the 1 kid. Ask for kids meal to arrive at the same time as starters and it doesn't. During the long wait for our main food the kids meal arrives. Hot plate/food put straight infront of the 3 year old, we ask for a teaspoon for the kid and a tablespoon is brought out. The table near us with 2 young kids were also waiting for there mains. Young lady sat on a near by table decided to have ago at that table for the way they apparently spoke to staff and commented on that she's had to listen to her children. (It's mother day there are gonna be kids around and the kids had done well considering the wait). No one stepped in, bar staff and waiters watched on while this poor family got shouted at. Finally someone told them to stop. The young lad waiter clearly knew the people at the young ladies table as he went over to chat time and time again despite it being busy and the long wait on food. The majority of my table work in the public sector, hospitality and retail. We know the family weren't being rude but were frustrated because of the situation. It was completely out of order, the young lady clearly knew the staff or was a regular and she made not only the family with the two kids uncomfortable but everyone who could hear her feel uncomfortable. It ruined the meal and it made us...

What a disappointment tonight!

Beautiful evening so we decided to visit the beer garden for a few drinks. Ordered some food and just enjoying the sunshine. A long enough wait for our starter but OK whatever. Finished starter and it was a good half an hour before anyone even cleared our plates. Our main course arrived about an hour after we finished our starter, and it was luke warm!!!!

My husband had chased the meal once already, to see if everything was OK, so for it to come out almost cold was ridiculous.

There was no apology, but they said they would recook the meal. We decided not, as we had waited a really long time anyway, and didn't want to sit around and wait any longer.

Customer service was shocking. If they had apologised, or offered a couple of drinks we would have stayed, but to not even apologise and look offended when we said we didn't want cold food was unbelievable. Eating out is expensive. It's a real treat, I'm not paying for cold food!!!

Such a shame because that food did look blooming lovely. How on earth can it come out cold!? I guess they just don't have enough staff to actually bring the food out to you when it's hot!!

Went there a few weeks back and there was one lady running around doing literally everything!!

Such a shame. The menu is fantastic, but it feels like...
