OUTSTANDING LUNCHTIME VISIT My Wife and I live in South Wales and we were told about this restaurant by a friend who ate there recently. As we had a rare day off together today we decided to go out for the day and decided we would stop for lunch at Lilliput farm and we are so glad we did. The location is excellent and the views over the fields and for miles around are superb, in the summer this place will be the place to go on a lovely summers evening. The service we received was excellent, it was attentive but not overbearing and the front of house manager and waitresses were polite and efficient. As stated we attended for lunch and the food was outstanding. We had koftas to start which were juicy and delicious. For the mains we both had the burger with triple cooked chips. The burgers were excellent and again juicy and very flavoursome, but the triple cooked chips were OUTSTANDING!!! they were by far the best chips of any sort that we have ever had, it was worth the trip just for them. We just about had enough room for dessert and we are so glad we did. My wife had the creme brulee we she said was delicious. I had the apple and pecan crumble with ice cream and I will be honest and say it was one of the best if not the best crumbles I have ever tasted (had to apologise to the wife as I told her it was better than she makes). I made a point of thanking the chef for the food we had and found out he is from South Wales as well..EVEN BETTER!! As stated we live in South Wales but we are already determined to return very soon to try the Sunday Lunch and also the evening menu. I would seriously like to thank the front of house staff and the chef's for making this lunch experience one that is...
Read moreBooked a table for 3 for mother's day . One in the party is a vegan, staff were made aware of vegan dietary needs. Service was poor had to wait around 45 minutes for our food. Waitress wasn't very helpful as she seemed to be rushed off her feet. I ordered the roast beef for my main, Was asked how I would like the beef which was a nice touch, however when I said medium was told the beef could only be cooked well done or rare.when asked why the waitress could not give a answer. The Vegan option did not come with a Yorkshire pudding not sure why. Side potion of the leek thing no vegan option available and no alternative offered. For the price, food very disappointing and over priced . Needs more work on vegan meals. thought vegan meal are a bit of a after thought . Toilets out side in another building which can be difficult to get to if disabled and you would need a umbrella if raining. Car park full and no option to park else where.car parking bays not clearly marked and could not see any disabled parking. All in all we were really looking forward to our first visit eating at the restaurant but left under impressed and...
Read moreAte here for the second time yesterday with my husband. My daughter and her girlfriend also came for their first visit. This visit was as fabulous as our first, with the staff as attentive as ever. This time we attended for Sunday lunch which was delicious the beef was done to perfection and the vegetables were superb with the roast potatoes being crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle and the Yorkshire pudding was large and delicious. The menu was slightly larger than the first time we went with vegan and vegetarian options clearly labelled. I actually had a vegan dish for starters and dessert and they were outstanding especially the dessert which was chocolate cremeaux both dishes were full of flavour and really indulgent. Both my daughter and her partner said they could not fault the food and like my husband and I are making plans to return soon. With the quality of the food being as good as it was and the service being so well run we thought the cost for all of us which ran to less than £145 was excellent...
