Tucked away on the outskirts of Shipham village, Lillypool cafe is a little gem. I've never stayed in the lodges there so can't comment on the rooms, but they do look inviting, and reasonably priced from looking at the website. The cafe itself is run with great efficiency. Whenever I visit, the tables are clean and supplied with condiments ready for use. Once ordered, ( I would recommend the large breakfast), your food will be with you in less than 5 minutes. Just to go an extra mile, if you ask nicely you can have your breakfast cooked the way you like it. Awesome.

Perfect cafe for a spot of breakfast with a cuppa included. The staff were wonderful, very friendly with top service. The cafe had plenty of free parking, a public toilet, lots of indoor and outdoor seating and disabled access. The food was well cooked and great value for money. They offered a great range of hot and cold drinks, food and snacks. We were staying at a local campsite and found it was only a walk away. Definitely will visit again and recommend.

Great place to stop if your visiting near by cheddar gorge. Friendly staff are always welcoming and serve a cracking breakfast. I'm sure there are many other dishes available but I only normally pop In for a breakfast whilst out crusing the countryside on my motorbike.. Good location with indoor and outdoor seating.. rest rooms/toilets available to customers..

I have to admit this is a serene and beautiful property, but our stay thus far has been less than relaxing. We entered the room and I tried to get connected to the WiFi using the in-room instructions, which provide 2 WiFi names and specify there are no passwords necessary. Unfortunately, those names no longer exist and the new ones require passwords. I stepped outside to get 1 bar of signal to email the listed email address and request a password. When I didn’t hear back, my husband texted the number provided and received a somewhat snarky response stating we should “check the in room instructions.” Upon explaining to them that their WiFi name has changed and now requires a password (I guess they didn’t know this??), they texted the password. I then realized there was no hair dryer in the room. According to the instructions, hair dryers are available upon request. As such, we again texted to request one and were informed a hair dryer would not be available until the morning. We have romantic dinner plans tonight, for which I was planning on washing and styling my hair. Unfortunately, those plans go out the window! I then went to use the bathroom and to my absolute shock/horror, I found a rather large smudge of excrement in the back of the toilet from a previous guest. That is atrocious and unacceptable. Given I did not want to have that staring back at me each time I used the bathroom, I used the toilet brush to clean it myself; it took nearly 7 minutes of my time to clean it given how long it had apparently been sitting there. Needless to say this wasn’t the rustic, peaceful farm getaway we had...

I feel I have to be honest as this accomodation cut out trip short due to the quality of the beds. After a 5hr drive to get there I was looking forward to a good night's sleep but the springs in the bed dug into my hips. My daughter was on a pull out sofa bed which was not much better. The rooms were clean but the photo online shows a farm tucked away in roling hills what they don't show you is that it's actually on a busy road that is hidden in the photo by a long hedge. Instead of listening to animals we were listening to traffic. The cafe onsite was very basic a laminated poster about allergies or intolerances but did not have any non dairy milk for my coffee. The food was basic and very greasy. We cut out stay short as we couldn't face another night in those beds and with the bright light shining above our door so the room couldn't be dark in the night. The mobile phone number on the sign is the old owner so when we got there we could gain access and no one was answering the landline number. No signal onsite so had to drive to a neaby town to check emails for key safe code. Very poor internet access onsite with supplied internet by...
